Learn what instantaneous velocity is, why it is important, and how to calculate it in physics. We begin by discussing average velocity, and demonstrate that the instantaneous velocity at any point in time is the slope of the line tangent to the position-time graph at that point.
Specifically, we take the slope of this line as the limit when the change in time approaches zero. This is explained to be the basic definition of the derivative in calculus 1. Because of this, instantaneous velocity is used heavily in physics, mechanics, and calculus.

I 💘the way this man explains math problems...He is the only instructor that I have found, in ALL of my years of highschool and college, that takes the time to mythodically brake down problems and equations, piece by piece. None of my college and high school teachers ever did this. We were just given a very complex formula and variable or term equivalencies to plug into the formula, but never really explained how the input/plug in values worked out in the formula. See, you can be given a formula in an arrangement that you may not be familiar with...Example: most people know that nx^n-1 is an exponent formula rule in Calculus...However, if you never knew what the superscript/exponent portion n-1 of the formula meant that you were subtracting 1 from the n exponent, than how would you know how to solve the problem if given a value to plug in for n? That is the beauty of how he explains what the individual parts of a formula or equation means and how to use when given input values to plug into the formula. It's all in the way the variable pieces are arranged in a formula and how familiar you are with knowing what the arrangement is telling you to do.

What do you mean 'velocity right now'? Velocity can be measured only during some period of time. At an instant distance is not changing. Is it something that is created to ease calculation, but does not exist in reality?

This is easy, what grade do you learn this because I'm in grade 8 and I don't know when you start calculus
@pernelle.marsjr.3461
@pernelle.marsjr.3461 5 жыл бұрын
Hi Charlie, Are you're taking physics in 8'th grade? That's odd but super cool dude. No one responded to you, but to answer your question, during your first year of high school (9th grade) most students will be taking Algebra or geometry depending on their knowledge. Assuming you start off with Geometry, the next year you should be taking algebra 2, followed by precalculus, and finally calculus. So assuming you take one math class per year like most students and don't test out of any and begin high school taking geometry you should be taking calculus in your final year of high school(12th grade). But if you want to take it sooner you could always test out of your current math class. At least that's the system my school followed when I was in high school, I'm assuming others are similar. I hope this helps:)
