Thanks for that reminder Rev Hamlin. I had a similar experience with a pair of black shoes which i hurriedly grabbed only to find out that the heels were different. I went into church and had to stay in my seat 😢

Please keep in mind that getting to church on time, or even being able to get to church at all, presupposes a mobility that not all people of faith have. I do not think that God would judge the spiritual readiness and preparedness of his children facing various challenges based on this single criteria which, when it comes right down to it, is set to man’s rather than God’s sense of time (i.e., daylight savings time and changes related thereto). Even for those of us who do not face such challenges, human mistakes do happen at time changes. I don’t think it is kind or Christian to assume that people who forget the time change are somehow not prepared spiritually. Before today’s daily prayers and commentary, I have never failed to be uplifted by the Cathedral’s programming. However, today felt different, disappointing, and unduly harsh-maybe more so to my ear because, as someone with a recently diagnosed disability, it is getting harder and harder for me to be “on time” as set by human beings. Nonetheless, I have faith and know that to God, I am on time. We would all do well not to judge others as regards their preparedness and faith, especially without knowing the entirety of their circumstances.

I am with the previous responder on this: This parable has made a lot of fundamentalist Christians use this parable to trash other people to think that hell’s fire awaits them if they fail to accept the lord Jesus as their saviour.

You are so right. I feel that God looks at a person’s heart and deep desire to please Him. God is the only Who can judge. The problem with most of us is that we are eager to judge others and not look at a mirror. I was very confused with today’s reflection myself. God bless everyone.🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
