Using your blue antistatic mat for chroma keying is just brilliant ! =D

That's a kick ass mod. Thanks for covering for Druaga1 while he is out. You earned a subscriber for sure.

I just fucking love you for some reason, you are so much like druaga, but you know much more about stuff like programming and engineering. You just earned a new sub.

He has a solid color antistatic map so he just chroma keyed it (in after effects or what ever software he used). Shadows look a bit funky, but other than that it is pretty genius

I'm curious, how is the keyboard above the Ubuntu Desktop? Are you doing background replacement, or do you have a fancy-pants tron legacy desk?
@TechTangents7 жыл бұрын
I'm glad to see someone else liked Tron Legacy! The effect was achieved by Chroma-key'ing off the blue ESD mat with OBS. This was all recorded with a webcam pointed down straight over the work area. Though it is an ESD "mat" the surface is not "matte" and reflects a lot of light creating hot spots that have to manually matched. I ended up creating my own diffused work/film lights from a high powered LED to help with this. I may do a video on them in the future.

AkBKukU Alternatively, if you want to, get some broken LED monitors (showing cracks and pretty colors), and pull out the led panel. They are insanely bright and can literally light up a room. Also, I really like how Disney made a "touch" computer for the movie. overall, tron legacy is one of my favorite movies
@TechTangents7 жыл бұрын
I've played with those before. They are really bright. I've wanted to use them for exactly that purpose but mounting them becomes a challenge. You can start with a VESA compatible model to make mounting easy and just remove the actual LCD leaving the frame intact. But then it's pretty bulky. You can ditch the frame and have just the thin backlight, but then you have to manage the power supply and the controller. What I setup cost me ~$20 a light for 20W of easily directable, cooled, and diffused lighting. It is a very under appreciated movie. I wish they would release a special edition with full surround but no dialog. The soundtrack is amazing and I would love to be able to have the excellent visuals while listening to it.

AkBKukU Nice, I used LCD panels from broken Polaroid PTAB7200 Tablets. I powered them with a 9v battery with a 100ohm resistor in line with the positive wire. I agree with you about Tron. It's pretty much the only reason why I like Separate Ways by Journey. Also, do you ever hang out on discord? I think it might be easier to chat there, rather than reply to eachother's comments here.
@TechTangents7 жыл бұрын
I'm not in any of the discord servers. Right now I'm doing some other work so I don't really have time to get into a longer conversation anyway.

Druaga1? Is that you?
@TechTangents7 жыл бұрын
Nope this is AkBkukU, you may remember me from such Druaga1 videos as "Doom Coop with a C.H.I.P. and Raspberry Pi v3" and "Bumbling around with Xserve (feat. AkBKukU)". I'm looking into the possibility of making some videos of my own. It will be different content compared to Druaga1's and will be focused more on programming and engineering. But I will be covering some old technology like the Commodore PET featured in this video.

PC Keyboards are not rare! What about encoding a serial keyboard or USB for use on C= I think it would work even if you had use single board mini to do it. I would be nice not to sit an uncomfortable chair as the years go by the couch or recliner feels so much better. C= C=

Why not just make a new computer inside the PET using a raspberry pi, and this USB keyboard code for the teensy. Like attach the teensy to a raspberry pi inside the PET Computer.

Then what else? PS2? And as for the PET keyboard, no damage was done to it.
