Sea of Quanta is really hard to describe.Einstein in Honkai Impact describe it the best. "Assume the universe as a glass of water surrounded by an infinite number of other glasses of water. Overflowing water will flow along the glass walls to form a puddle in the middle of the table. This puddle does not belong to any glass... but the water of the puddle may be from any glass. This puddle was named the Sea of Quanta."

Fun fact: The MC has a 'canon' name, I say it with air quotes since it seems like Kafka chose them a new name judging from what Silver Wolf says, so their real name and current name might be different. Anyway for the female its Stelle which means Star and the male is called Caelus which means The Sky. So not too different from the Travelers names, and funny enough according to Cicero and Hyginus Caelus is the son of Aether and Dies (the goddess of day).

You should probably check out Homu Labs then - he's very much the English-speaking Honkai lore guru. I vaguely remember Ashikai saying during one of her livestreams that she didn't play Honkai, was only interested in the worldbuilding but not the story, and got all her knowledge second-hand. So she probably wouldn't be willing or capable of covering HI3 lore.

Since this is the beginners guide lore to HOS. I would just like to add that all this information is in the Astral Express Welt and Himeko literally have so much information to discover. Probably, Hi3 players will find it more enjoyable to see and read some Hi3 terms being mentioned along their lines. You can actually ask Welt. What his powers are and his “secret gravitational powers”. The most interesting one is his idea of what an Aeon is and how it compares his enemies back in Earth.

Having played both Genshin and Honkai impact extensively as well as the cbt of Star Rail, it feels like this game takes the best of both games. In my opinion Honkai has overall better story but Genshin has overall better lore. HI3 lore suffers from multiple retcons and general confusion as well as needless overexplanation with scientific terms while Genshin's story is...well it can be hit or miss. Star Rail seems to take the great sci-fi story of HI3 with the well structured/presented lore of Genshin and combines it into a fantastic space odyssey.

Just a theory for the conception of Akivilli and the Astral Express by Hoyoverse/Mihoyo: The Astral Express is said to be created by "Akivilli", and looks almost EXACTLY like the 2nd Divine Key, the Key of Infinity named the "Cosmic Juggernaut" from the "Previous Era" (50,000 years before the "Current Era") of Honkai Impact 3rd's version of Earth. Cosmic Juggernaut's description; "Allows the user to create bubble universes in the Sea of Quanta. Capable of traversing through the Sea of Quanta and the bubble universes within." But on the point of the Cosmic Juggernaut is a DIVINE KEY. Someone we know created many of the Divine Keys... A Fire Moth MANTIS who stood at the end of Previous Era's civilisation, annihilated by the Honkai. Codename: HELIX, one of the 13 Flamechasers: Vill-V. Also, HELIX being DNA related, ALSO LOOKS LIKE TRAIN TRACKS. So I believe Akivilli is this bubble universe's Vill-V, like how Himeko, Bronya, Silver Wolf, Seele... Are all this bubble universe's versions of them. Another, WILDER point - IF AKIVILLI IS THIS UNIVERSE'S VILL-V there may be "more than one", or the Aeons themselves may be ALL DIFFERENT PARTS OF VILL-V/AKIVILLI. My Reasonings; In Honkai Impact 3rd, a side effect of her MANTIS surgery, Vill-V has the ability to split her mind in two. In theory, she could do so infinitely, but her brain power would be spread thin. As of now she has split her mind into 8 parts. This results in multiple "personalities", though really, they are all the person named Vill-V. Vill-V also has a habit of delegating each persona specific tasks and thus specific knowledge, which makes it seem as though she has multiple personalities. Vill-V’s various personas include The Conductor Vill-V, The Great Magician Vill-V, The Expert Vill-V, Flavorful Vill-V, Kevin Killer MK5, Vill-V Looking Down Upon The Stars, Pure Evil Vill-V, and Vill-V of the Helix. So Vill-V's concept taken to extremes as Akivilli would account for all the Aeons governing over one particular "path", and being renamed accordingly... destruction, trailblaze, Preservation, etc..

Two weeks into the game, only finished Belobog, but I'm gonna drop my theory right now... Nanook IS Akivili. See you in seven years But seriously, I didn't really find anything that could completely dismiss that idea, and it seems like a Hoyo move to make. From what I understood, Nanook did not exist during Akivili's travels, however he does now. There was also an interesting thing in Herta's log about him that talks about how there are few Aeons with similar idealogies and that perhaps they do consume each other... There is also a thing about Trailblazer being recognized as Akivili himself, although you would thing that being the literal walking Stellaron would connect you more with Nanook. There may be other reasons for why that's the case, however this idea just seems intriguing

On Aeons, I know it probs won't happen but I hope some day in the far far future we can have them as playable, not sure how they'd like justify it but the Aeon of Destruction and Abundance really interest me (their designs are so cool!!) I'll be happy if we get boss fights with the Aeons tbh, I just want to appreciate them and their designs.

I think the best we can hope for is a playble Emanator that could serve as either an avatar or a representative of the Aeon, and they will probably be "special" character (like Archon or Herrscher). A straight up Aeon is probably impossible, if i remember correctly one of the loading screen say that Nanook look fractured because reality litterally can't handle his full power manifest

@@vanagandrd4877 Yhea (⁠〒⁠﹏⁠〒⁠) Making them playable would be very hard/near impossible for balancing and lore issues. I just really like them (how could I not I fell in love with their designs at first sight) so even a crumb or some way to interact with them in the game or see them would be enough for me.

I really hope that the first trailer of Star Rail still holds and and we see characters from the main Honkai universe. Carole was shown boarding the Astral Express along with welt, Carole being a character from APHO.
