Vibha Jha finished 2nd in the Money Manager Division ($1 Million minimum) with an outstanding return of 70%. She also finished in 2nd place in the 2021 competition with a 100% return.
In this video Vibha discusses her approach to find the companies that have the highest probability to become true market leaders. Since her typical holding period is over a year she puts larger emphasis on her strict fundamental requirements.
Vibha also uses a unique TQQQ trading strategy that she uses to initially enter the market after corrections. After she builds a profit in her TQQQ position she will start identifying the top companies to purchase by scaling out of her TQQQ trade.
Later in the video Vibha reviews her AFRM trade in 2021. She shares her full process in this trade including how it landed on her watchlist, her entry tactics, why she sold into strength, and much more.
She concludes by encouraging viewers to embrace failure and use it as a learning tool stating that traders who rush the process of attaining trading knowledge are more likely to fail.

One common thing across most of these USIC winners is that many of them started their professional careers in other fields, moved to investing/trading quite late in their lives, and have started reaping great returns in their late 30s/40s/early 50s. One thing that clearly stands out about them is that they are humble, emotionally stable, love numbers and charts, and are very meticulous and open to getting into detailed learning new skills/tools in their middle-age years.. That's something that gives a lot of confidence to someone like me who can identify with these traits

I will go and check myself - but just a question - if somebody has entered the US Investing Championships in multiple years is it possible to track them through the years? Eg just flip back to 2022, 2021 etc and look for the same name? Is there any survivor bias where people drop out and aren’t shown? That is, supposed someone had great performance in 2021 and 2023. But they lost 95 percent in 2022. If they had stopped reporting in 2022 say when they were down 40 percent (ultimately down a lot more) would we ever see that? Not saying that is the case here but just in general. Thx ! (Great interviews, Richard!!)

53:08 Thank you for asking the question about whether to trade through earnings or wait for them to come out. I think this is an important point that many traders overlook. Some traders who don't know jack, focus on mostly entries and put in stop losses. A stoploss will not save you when the stock gaps down 10% on a "good earnings report" as we saw most recently with PINS.

Hi, really appreciate the detailed insights into Vibha's trading - I have one question only , and its about her holding positions upto and past earnings when a stock has already gone up a bit...she mentions that she tends to hold because if she sells and later buys back when it goes lower , she will have to pay short term capital gains tax, so my question is what about hedging her winning position at earnings time with options purchases,? Would that impact her overall profit startegy or tax liability negatively or worse then if she just held on to her original plan?

Traders may remember that the indices tended to ramp higher overnight during the end of the GFC and for a few years thereafter. I am wondering if this juiced the ultra index ETF returns during those early years. When the next major recession and selloff hits, I will look into whether overnight returns affect the overall returns for the ultra index ETFs and whether I should invest long-term in them.

Richard one suggestion, you can have a playlist for interviews that are canslim based or weekly based and from people who wants to buy for 12-18 months. i see a lot of people using the 3-5 day swing method, which is not so helpful for part timers like me who cant monitor market a lot during the day. Can someone please summarize her TQQQ strategy? She tracks the percentage change and the number of days between recent swing highs and swing lows. Based on that past data, she determines if TQQQ is overextended (overBought or overSold) and enter/exit. She also does that using 10/21/50 SMAs. Is this accurate? Thank you!
