Hier jetzt nur eins rausziehen was mich begeistert hat ist unmöglich. Das geht alleine schon mit der größe und dem überfluss Werkzeugen los, für die er schon Ersatzakkus hat, und geht weiter über die vielen durchdachten Details, z.B. der Fussschalter der mit dem Knie betätigt wird. This craftsmanship is astonishingly beautiful. I've seen videos of his workshop before but this time I actually sat down for the whole time, actively listening to him. He's so proud telling stories about it and he even answers comments on this channel - I really wish he'll stay healthy while getting older so he can continue building more and more. He's not only a great carpenter, he's a great human being you can tell by just listening to him. Me as a heating technician obviously like good tools - and this workshop is full of it. I always regretted to not have gone into carpentry because everytime I work with wood I totally love it.

Seitdem Du die Werkstatt das erste mal vorgestellt hast, folge ich Doug und finde immer wieder neue Details; Mehr noch: ich schaue ein und dasselbe Video mehrfach und entdecke jedesmal was Neues. This was a fascinating tour of the man's shop and his experience as a laborer, carpenter, and contractor. Also, what a clash of cultures. This man oozes what America knows as Texas: sureness, gumption, warmth, candor, and unbridled eccentricity. Doug is a fine ambassador to your German viewers.

@@fleetswoodshop3339 Thank you for the reply Mr. Fleet. It does seem like you two genuinely get along well. That's refreshing to see. I have to reiterate, your shop really is amazing. Without minimizing the costs, the main thing that holds my attention is your thoughtfulness and efforts - the shop itself is a living creation that changes as you change (I know that's true with my own shop). I would encourage you, with as much humility as I can muster, start to take time for the shop time you desire sooner than later. In contracting, especially general contracting, there's always the next project, that one extra phone call, that little bit of something you want to make sure was done properly etc etc But life is short my friend, you've worked hard (obviously), so try to commit, in my humble opinion, more time to shop time. I would wager working nonstop has become a habit for you after decades and decades - so it's not easy but it's pretty clear you've achieved a certain level of work that the world won't stop turning if you give yourself an extra day a week for shop time. Life is truly short - it's not cliche - this beautiful life is limited so make the effort:). Good luck kind sir. Good luck.

Im Prinzip kann man es wohl wirklich sein Lebenswerk nennen. Ich hatte auch gefragt ob es jemanden gibt der vielleicht seine Leidenschaft mal teilen wird. Aber wahrscheinlich wird irgendwann die Werkstatt mal aufgelöst. Dafür müsste man eine Stiftung oder einen Verein gründen und einen Makerspace ins Leben rufen um dieses Meisterwerk zu erhalten... Great dialogue on the choices to make when purchasing battery tools and stocking up on batteries to insure against planned obsolescence. I didn't know that spare batteries should be charged occasionally to 40% to keep them healthy. Fascinating man and shop!
