Goalkeepers are a different breed, no wonder they stick together.

For most sports, goal keepers don’t even react as it’s not possible, they have to learn body movements and predict, I’ve heard that in some sports a goalie that can save 1/3 of shots is godlike.
The soccer player picking up the camera was the most exciting play of the game

One of my favourite moments of sportsmanship not shown here was Nigel Mansell giving Ayrton Senna a lift back to the paddock at Silverstone after Mansell had won the race and Senna had ran out of fuel. Given how intense their competitive rivalry was, this was a particularly telling moment that they could still respect each other.

It's almost always international players (not US athletes) with proper sportsmanship like these. They're WAY too up their asses and engulfed in their egos/pride to even have a thought of checking in most of the time here. Also taught and have it en-grained that the competition and rivalry (competitiveness and winning) is far more important than showing concern or sportsmanship.
@rocketman3285 Жыл бұрын
Here in the US we don't give a shit about soccer, sorry. That's a European thing.
@TheCriminalViolin Жыл бұрын
@@rocketman3285 My guy, I'm a Oregonian. Love how it seems you assumed I'm from Europe. Also, you must be missing the obvious fact that the MLS is skyrocketing in popularity year over year here, so much so that even the world's biggest names have begun to consider moving here to play in the MLS despite knowing they will make far less overall income from doing so. Messi is the first one, there will inevitably be more now. And most parks now have soccer fields in the US. Every new park has at least one, whereas football and basketball are not even a given anymore (much to my own shagrin given how much I adore basketball). Also, technically soccer is much more of a Latin American thing. It just so happens that the world focuses far more on Europe than elsewhere. That said, the irony is nothing I said in my original comment you're here responding to has anything to do with Futbol. It's sportsmanship. You know, something universal to all sports. lol. You're cherry picking. Even if no one cared for a sport, doesn't change the fact that what I stated about the lack of sportsmanship in the US compared with the rest of the world.
@tuttuti123 Жыл бұрын
@@TheCriminalViolin well to be fair yall americans seem to not care about other minor sports and would rather just enjoy things that you are good at, and I understand that completely because it happens in my country too despite not being so good at it. However you can't say the same for the athletes. These guys know that they are the best, they would visit each other if possible and they definitely say "See you in 4 years" each time they finish in the Olympics, because they know that they will be there.

I don't know what you think, but I think we shouldn't see it as "spirit of sport", it is spirit of goodness, of goodwill, literally humanity. We find it beautiful and respectful when it's in sport, as if it is something reserved for this domain, whereas it's before all, people being good, benevolent, human, completely. I think it is too bad to see these acts just belonging and being part of the practice of sport, what if we see them as acts of humanity, and then, we can just do the same in life, simply, this dear spirit of sport 😉

Most of the countries in the western hemisphere use the comma to separate every 3 decimal places above the ones digit to make it easier to read when there are a lot of zeroes. In most European countries, the comma is used in place of what the western hemisphere uses as a decimal point. As an example, in the U.S, 100 million is written as: 100,000,000 instead of 100000000 For numbers smaller than 1, such as one ten thousandth, the western hemisphere will write 0.0001 while most European countries will write it as 0,0001
