I think the final question, instead of “Does more money = more better” because 99% that answer will be yes, the question should be “Is more money worth it”
@brandonmiller9155
@brandonmiller9155 4 жыл бұрын
I’d believe in doing the best of both. So cheap rims and expensive tires. Because the rims matter a lot less than the tires in terms of performance. 4 pounds isn’t that much of a difference when you’re running a stiffer/lower set up, whereas if you max out your usable grip you’re going to have a much more noticeable improvement
@ALittleBitOfGay
@ALittleBitOfGay 4 жыл бұрын
Brandon Miller but at the same time, if they hit a big pothole or something, the better wheels (and probably the OEM wheels) MIGHT bend, whereas the cheaper ones will definitely bend and could crack. So not only are the more better ones safer, but if you live in a hole-y area, then you could end up saving money over the years.

Cheap subwoofers sound like crap. But you don't have to spend $1000+ to get quality. My powered sub is from Rockford Fosgate. It is a 12 inch Punch woofer with a 300 watt rms mono amp. Great bass in my truck.
@AFlyingCookieLOL
@AFlyingCookieLOL 4 жыл бұрын
@@enlightenedidiot9552 Let me correct that. Poorly designed subwoofers sound like crap. Price is not a sure determination of performance. SPL in a car is easy and 250-300$ sub can give JL and fosgate a run for it's money. Most "Car" subs are overpriced because of branding. You can hit 130dB with just 300Ws with the right woofer and still get deep bass

I work with a lot of wheels and tires, YES they do make a difference. Tires and wheels are a perfect example of "you get what you pay for" and tires especially, all tires are not created equal! Some could be out of round which means during manufacturing they didn't perfectly round off the tire which means you can get a LOT of bouncing. There is nothing you can do about that. Some good tires around about 1,000 and up.

For 60-0 brake tests, couldn't you put it on cruise control at 60mph, then hit the brakes? The cruise control will automatically turn off the moment brakes are applied. And it'd make it very easy to increase the precision of the test.

Dream world Reece, I work in the motor industry as many others here do, and as for modified cars are better performing and SAFER, not from what i have seen at least 50 percent of these we get in are less safe then factory, due to miss matched parts, like un- balanced brakes systems and suspension geometry, just think about just lowering the suspension, the list of changes that are need to be checked and may need to be changed, castor, camber, tracking, spring rates, rebound & compression rates, rollbar travel, and the list goes on, if only life was that easy, but carry on with the mods as it does keep a lot of us in the industry & police acciden ivestigation teams in work.

They should do another series of high-low where one car gets new parts while the other gets stuff from Facebook and other second hand options to compare new to to used parts in comparison to performance reliability and cost.

i've tried driving on chinese and korean tires and they were totally fine and really good even when new, once the tires start to wear, they were horrible especially on wet roads. my ps4s were perfect even when almost thread bare. i don't think tests on new tires are the way to go. they should be properly worn in and tested in wet conditions.
