Friedrich Schiller is one of the greatest poets in german history, and the gedenkthaler(memorial taler) from frankfurt sell for 100-1000€. A Schiller thaler in this condition should be about 150€.

Cristobal Colon is the real name for Christopher Columbus :) (somewhere in history we have anglicized his name)

Cristobal Colon is Spanish. Christopher Columbus is English. Cristoforo Colombo is Italian. Christophorus Colombus is Latin. He was born in Italy in Genoa, and he sailed for the Spanish crown. Latin was the lingua franca in those days. We get his English name from the Latin.

On the first five pesetas, The G is for gracia, and the full motto would be "Por la gracia de Dios" (by the grace of God). Alfonso XIII was depicted as a child on his early coins because he was a child. His father, Alfonso XII, died while Queen Maria Cristina was pregnant with him, so he became king at the moment he was born
