actually it’s a 2009 crf250r carburetored and i’m about to try it because even tho is not fuel injected it dose the same thing

so it’ll start with in 1-3 kicks but when you blip the gas and it’s cuts off sometimes and itll take15 to 17 kicks to start back up only but i couldn’t figure out why it did that till i watched this

Thanks. I have tried on a few different bikes, it makes it very very hard to kick past the compression stroke. And can even break clutch covers around the kicker

Hey man. I have a question u might have some killer insight on. I have a 2004 crf450r. Been having start issues. So I changed the stator and coil and cdi. Well when I went to change the stator a pin came out of the crank case when I started to take it off. Looks just like the pin u pulled out to get that off. So when u got it all back together it won't fire. When I kick it spits a flame out the exhaust. Like maybe the decompression valve it staying open when firing the spark. Idk anymore. I'm so at a loss anymore. Anything kind of insight from anyone would be amazing. And yes I checked valves they were right in spec. But after seeing it video and that pin I was like damn. That's the pin I found. I'm pulling cam tomorrow to check everything out.

Yes, I think you are going the right route. Pull the cam and check that the auto decompression is working well and everything. Another place that pin can come from is the lower rod bearing rollers, lets hope its not from that though, as that would require a new crankshaft. Also check the exhaust rocker arm bearing, it also has rollers inside that bearing that can excape

There is also a simular pin in your oil pump driven gear (white plastic) under your flywheel

So this will fix my 2012 crf450r ? Cause I’m starting to have that issue at idle I give it slight gas and shut off instantly I legit just replaced fuel filter and injectors thinking it was that.

Hello. I would try doing this mod and also try a new spark plug. I have seen spark plugs cause stalling issues on these bikes as well. It will look good but replace it anyway.

Thanks. That was a oldie, I think I did that one in like 2012 or something lol. But that surely was the fix that held the test of time. I remember at the time everyone was trying everything and dumping money into them bikes for the fix but that actually was the fix.

my crf 450r 2006 doesnt even have this decompression part in camshaft LOL. No wonder it has such problems

In 2006 they used a different design auto decompression. Still did the same thing just differently

@@tosijjaa_ that bike in them years also suffered from the decompression kicking back in during low rpm throttle tip in however its a completely different system than the one in this video. The same idea applies though, removing some spring pressure to cure it. But the process to achieve that will be different than in this video

Hello mate wondering weather you can help my nephews yz125 96 is smoking a lot and is not running great at low rpm there’s no power when you reach higher rpm it has power and runs better I’ve cleaned out carb/jet’s repacked silencer I’ve noticed we get a lot of black oil coming out of valve cover on the side of the engine I have cleaned the valves too the carb is a tmx 36 any ideas would be great I do have a video of it running if you want me to send it to you by email or something 🤙🏻

Hello. Have you checked to make sure the valves are opening and closing as they should? Check that it's not getting stuck in the open position?

could you or someone in the comment section tell me how to put the cam back in place? I am trying ALL I can but I just don't remember how to. Chain tensioner is off, so there should be no tension on the timing chain. The Chain seems too short!? even tho it was used on this bike with no issues last time I did top end. What the fuck am I doing wrong? Thank you for any replies :D

@@cubiversewastaken Your welcome! I was going to suggest first making sure the chain didn't get kinked at the lower crank area. And if you slide the left side bearing on the cam close to the cam gear it allows the cam to sit deeper in the head when putting chain on it. Once the chain is on it then slide bearing down into its proper seat. Glad ya got it!

The idea does work on the 2007 however it does have a totally different auto decompression system so the way to go about it will be different for sure.
