damn, i just love the 08th ms team mobile suits. There just so much more refreshingly gritty, realistic, and unique compared to most gundam ms's which are usualy somewhere in between realistic and fantastical. Its overall design really makes this kit is my favorite in the build fighters series as it kind of defies this unspoken in between super and realistic robot law that defines most of the gundam robots. (ps. i'm loving the new rec. in G mech designs there pretty interesting, especialy the mach knife!)
@GreyFox235 жыл бұрын
This kit is honestly a lot of fun out of box. For those interesting in customizing your gunpla, this kit already gives all kinds of ways to make your own version of the Ez-SR. You get that nice uniform look and it really captures the appeal you would get from other series the 08th MS Team.
@Novapoid9 жыл бұрын
I couldn't agree more about how good this HG turned out. It's quite clear that Build Fighters is, more than ever, a promotional tool for great gunpla, but I don't have a problem with that since it's enjoyable and the quality of the kit backs such ambition up. The only thing I regret is that the grittier/more grounded designs get either underwhelming screen time (such as EZ-sr) or an amazing battle that makes you wish it stuck around for more episodes (mega-shiki). At least in the 1st season we had the Meijin's first two gunpla and the GM Sniper K9.

One point I feel is missed (maybe due to format and focus of your videos) is the veritable pile of extra pieces this kit comes with on the runners that are not used in the kit. With a few small exception pieces, this kit comes with enough parts to essentially recreate the original HGUC Ez8, sans the original feet and lower shield spikes. For that reason alone I would highly recommend this kit to the aspiring custom builder in all of us, as the sheer number of spare parts add a wide range of customization the kit can achieve with little excess fanaggling. Still loved the video regardless, keep up the good work!
@TYPEV39 жыл бұрын
Helkarof Yep, I definitely skipped out on that. I just wanted to focus on what I thought was the most important aspect for the Build FIghter fans.

For people wondering how to dry-brush (weathering), google "Layman's Gunpla Guide" and go to the dry-brushing section. If you want to try them out, Tamiya also makes Weathering Master sets in various colors. They look like eye shadow make-up. I can't wait for your reviews on the LBWS MK II, Star Winning, and Crossbone Full Cloth! Your filming is great! @TYPEV39 жыл бұрын
Always paint parts separately, it's just easier. Generally, spray paint for entire pieces, brush on the smaller details. For example: all the gunmetal sections on this kit I painted all at once with a spray can. The weathering was done with a brush.

Great review as always! I'm personally not a big fan of having a lot spare parts in a kit (it's a waste imo. Though I do appreciate spare parts that are there in case things break/go missing) ... Reason being is I'm not much of a custom builder and more of a out of box snap one instead. I like to have my kits remain as true to the source material as possible and also because of the time, money, and effort in doing custom jobs. So ya I'm a basic, but gunpla is freedom =).
@TYPEV39 жыл бұрын
You must hate all the HGBF kits then. Nothing but spare parts in them!
@deekay94419 жыл бұрын
It's quite the opposite actually. I love most of the HGBF kits (especially from the first season) that have a moderate amount of spare parts that compliment the itself gunpla (extra hands, extra weapons, polycaps, effect parts, weapon parts, etc). I haven't built many personally, but I've watched your HGBF reviews (some multiple times for one because it's really good) and I never noticed many kits having a large amount of spare parts besides kits using older molds like the HGBF Build Gundam MKII. What I mean by excessive spare parts is perhaps one's that drive up the cost of the kit substantially and one's that you can't really use unless you do a custom. I guess I'm cool with the HGBF using older molds that keep the original kit parts there if anyone wants to convert it back instead of having the custom from the show. Like you mentioned previously, if someone wants to build that entire team, there's a lot of spare parts lying around... I think i'm just discontent with paying for extra stuff that I don't need or the fact that I dislike having things wasted. But I'm just an ignorant out of box, snap builder... What would I know?
@TYPEV39 жыл бұрын
Meh, to each his own. I mean, in the case of the Ez-SR it costs 1800yen, which is basically stand HG price. Could of it been cheaper without the extra parts? Sure, but at that point I'd be arguing over a dollar or two. :/
@deekay94419 жыл бұрын
Not use to buying gunpla in yen so I thought it'd be a bit more expensive than that (+$5 was what i was thinking). In that case it's worth having the extra parts and allows for more options. Anyways thanks for taking the time to reply back and as always keep up the good work =).

Actually I found it kind of questionable putting 3 into 1.Since if you want to form the whole team,you're gonna have to buy 3 anyway lol.It was nice that they had to put 3 into 1 tho,good for people who will just buy one.I mean,how often do we get like 3 in 1 stuff?It's kinda like the Strike Gundam with it's strike packs.You have to buy like 3 kits to get all the packs and it's just getting boring cuz you're building the same thing.

Hiruko Kagetane Like I said in the review, you can view the 3 in 1 gimmick as an optimist or pessimist. Either way, I think there's enough here to have fun with.
