I got the RG Exia yesterday and built it in about 7 hours. Haven't had an opportunity to put the decals on yet, but love the figure. And despite the limited leg movement, I don't have a problem with the pose-ability.

My first RG, the Raiser, took 18 hours total. 10 hours to build, 2 hours to panel wash, 6 hours for the entire sticker sheet (I feel like waterslide decals would have been easier but definitely would have taken longer). The Raiser is one of the most heavily loaded RG kits though so there's also that :]

When I was shopping for Gundams, I came across the Star build strike and the Wing gundam Fenice Rinascita and by the corner of my eye, I saw the Rg Exia and beside it was the Rg Wing gundam zero EW.My aunt told me to take the wing gundam as she liked the Angel wings and I've already built the HG Exia and the HG Avalenche Exia, so she thought that same model would be boring but I didnt know it came with CHROME blades!!! I really want to see my Exia holding those shiny weapons, I'll polish them litterally everyday

I just built my Real Grade Exia, and prior to this build the Dynames has been my favorite mobile suit. However this has made me truly appreciate the Exia's design. The only issue I have come across is the right shoulder plate popping off due to the plastic inserts, and a bit of my own rough behavior, and the right vent plate becoming loose during posing. All and all I thing it is one of the most sturdy builds i have put together.

You should review more about gunpla's. The way you the summary about the whole gundam within 6 mins. or so is really amazing. Besides the Build Fighters and 00 Series, I'm looking forward more about the Mobile suit Gundam Series such as the RX-78-2 or Seed Destiny like Justice and Freedom Gundams. But I am also a Great fan of the 00 series. Lol. XD

Honestly, I think you being a fan of the Exia makes your review more credible because if this were a bad kit, you would have expressed that and pointed out more things that might be inaccurate to the anime or that are flaws in the design of the kit.

Lol, you can tell you poured extra time into this kit.. even the panel lining is so much neater than some of your HGBF kits. It's a really great job! Just wondering, Gundam Battles are all 1/144 (series name originally had 1/144 in the title)... pretty sure you'd clean up if you took a real grade to the battle field. :'3

Actually, I've probably put the least amount of time into this one. I just think the Exia's design lends itself well to panel lining and RGs pretty much offer the best color separation at this scale so I didn't have to try and employ my childish painting skills here. :D

I'm fascinated that you say the RG was easier to get looking good though, is this specific to RGs? Because I've personally only ever built one kit (technically 2 if you count the non-grade 1/60 non-grade Toys R Us Wing One), the Astray Blue Frame & I was too daunted to even consider panel lining that...

Yeah, anything RG and up doesn't really require much effort to get looking good. There's just more parts and overall detail put into the model kit. Of course, RGs do cost about a third more than HGs so I guess it isn't too surprising?

I'm a huge fan of Axia GN 001 so i know how you feel bro. The design is so realistic and agile. The weapon is pretty cool too except for that overly huge GN Sword (my opinion).

***** yea, but it is not so motivating for me. I already have MG Qan[t] and MG 00 Raiser with full leds and for me it is not so impressive having the leds on. I can survive with the leds always off, plus the led units tend to fail and require repairs, and keep buying batteries is not cheap (worst in the case of the 00 Raiser who has 5!!!)

Yesterday got this kit. Mine 1st RG gunla and damn I removed so many small fragmenta that I thought were just numbs and actually were needed in building (like on both arms does for tapes)

Would it be an issue if i opted out of using the powerlines under the shoulders? Ive heard that certain exia models' articulation are actually hindered by the plastic power lines that run from under the shoulder plates to the arm.

What is HG and RG? I just bought my first gundam kit at my local cards and comic shop for $15.00. Its an HG 1/144 GN-001Gundam Exia. I am really excited because when I was much younger I remember my cousin having a ton of Gundam figures hanging in his room and they looked so dam cool. Anyways, I want to know what HG and RG is. my HG figure parts don't have as much detail as this RG figure.. is it a difference in detail? If so, I would rather buy RG's if they have more detail. Also, I thought my kit didn't come complete with all the stickers because the beam sword wasn't pink and the instructions showed there were supposed to be stickers where some parts were but I saw no sticker proportiionate to the part.. but after a couple KZbin videos I found out that not all gundam figures come complete with colors and stickers, which was kind of disappointing coming from a first time builder looking to really collect these awesome looking figures. I bought my first kit with expectations of everything was ready and colored, all I needed to do was pop the parts out and put it together. But upon watching gundam reviews on KZbin there are people who use sand sticks and paint their figures. I really like these figures, and I think I will continue to build and collect a couple more but I am a little disappointed my first kit the beam sword was not colored and not all parts came with the stickers showed on the instructions. I don't know if I'm going to buy sand sticks and paint and scalps for gundam kits, but hell I'm not going to lie and say that just building these figures make me feel good because it takes time and technique and patience to build a good result. I will be humbled to know I have finished building my gundam figure. I think of it like nurturing a child lol. You raise them up until they're big and see the results of your building. it's very rewarding

***** HG->PG are all about the same difficulty to be honest. The only difference is the length of the build. You'll be fine.

If you're wanting to go for a good RG model to build, I recommend the gundam mk 2 A.E.U.G., I helped a friend build it and it's really nice, my only problem I had with it were trying to to out the wires into the model as the instructions show, but everything else is great to build. Another one would be the Exia, didn't get a chance to build it, but the video here looks good.

+Skypup i just finished my first rg model, the 00 raiser. the upgraded version of exia and i say it was a bit frustrating esp. with the small parts but it seems exia's a little simple compared to 00 raiser. if its ur first time to build a gunpla, i would personally recommend to test the hg lines first but if ur heart wanna go with rg then i would say get all the patience u can get. if get tired, rest. dont rush it:)

+Skypup I started off from master grade then to rg and then to hg. Personally it doesn't really matter if where you start if your interested in the hobby but the Exia has some pretty small parts and the foil stickers for the legs and arms will slowly rub off by sweat so just be careful. Also get some fine sand paper to just to sand off the nub marks.

+Tim Li no, starting at hg is better as it's 5in figure sized and mg are taller, olus they have much more small bits, plus an inner frame.

Its the persons choice on where to start the hobby usually starting at hg is the best way but you can start anywhere. Its just how interested you are in the process of building it and having the experience.
