This is story from legendary author, who made "Main character hides his strenght" years and years ago, which become most common name in recent years for any sort of manga or manhua, mainly because his story was so good, that everyone tried to copy some of it. I readed this manhua and novel as well, before thsi video was made, and, in short, this guy is a looooot more cold-minded and smart than it seems from this manhwa recap. Also, really often jumps between events is mostly this exact video problem, i watched other recaps, they seemed fine. Manhwa have few of them, but novel doesn't have much of them at all, beside pre-war jumps, but not between-events jumps as in this video.

There is an apocalypse simulator called "Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead" that has the same theme of how the world will end. The sky ripping open and different eldritch or alien entities pouring out/Zombies created by a biological ooze entering the systems of humans/Random genetic changes to everyday animals making them predators capable of hunting humans. Its a wild game, and this Manhwa give me the vibe the author has played it.

Aren't rifts and monsters are additional content, akin to a dlc? Mutations were developments of a corpo the same way as zombie virus. Though, if it was an inspiration, there would be more complete world building, as there are 3 worlds stitched together by cheap hot glue: survivalists in bunkers with some sort of inner society, government doing their shenanigans with military, and common folk somehow fitting between them.

@@worldspam5682 As I understand it as of now the base game has rifts and monsters. The NPC's you meet along the way as well as the notes/newspapers allude to multiple ways the world is dying in the game, be it the portal storms/infected/mutants. The lore has been expanded for sure though, if you haven't played newer releases of the game I highly recommend it. I would also say that if the Author chose to use something as an inspiration it wouldn't have to be 1 to 1 and execution of the story is a separate matter completely.
