This is not idolatry. People who claim such are even misinterpreting their own teachings. "Do not take unto thyself . . . " is about anger. Whatever trespass you imagine against yourself is 'NOT' reason enough to commit transgression. "unto thyself" . . . is that you? No. It's merely a thing. Whatever slight you may experience . . . is that reason enough to bring harm? There are far too many who have little respect for any other than themself. "Thus greet Narcissus. Greet Perseus." What you see is what you are.
