Grovenor's reaction to modern art reminds me of Mona in Hobart Tasmania where the longer descriptions of works were referred to as "Artwank" when I visited. Nowadays I zoom around exhibitions, rarely reading the 'wank but spend more time on the stuff that strikes a chord.

one year i went to the bienale with college. let it be this exact year. cool. im a bit in between their opinions i get the art lovers ideas but im also thinking what a waste of material its just a bunch of iron rods..... ive seen so much that year this was a nice refresher.

The bronce rods do nothing for me... as far as I'm concerned it is just another example of the fraud of modern art. "Don't you feel the poetry of the title?" .. he asks. Well, no.. and if you have to redeem the value of a piece of art by claiming it has a poetic title, then the piece itself most leave lots to be desired.. as this one does. Art lovers should wake up, stop listening to the lengthy 'metaphysical' excuses of modern art critics, and stop forcing themselves to like and admire pieces of art that they don't really like at all... the king is naked, gentlemen, and all the Claims to the contrary are bias and based on self interest.... they tell you that you should like it, and that if you don't it's just because you are too ignorant, too unsophisticated, or to insensible... they understand that art because they are gurus, the chosen, the initiated, the knowledgable, etc. Actually ist in their best interest to play that role... and it is in your best interest to go with your gut Feelings... it the piece dosen't do anything for you, chances are that it is not that good, or good at all... the king, remember is almost always naked.

bullshit. The art of the past is nothing but boring portraits of dead white people. Suppose gthats what you like though. Modern art is 1000 times better than what came before, The invention of the camera made all old art irrelevant
