The title at 12:45 is incorrect. While Bourgeois did have a retrospective at the MoMA in 1982, she was not the first woman artist to. Georgia O'Keeffe was the first woman artist to have a retrospective at the MoMa in 1946.

You can see why it's so hard to be an artist AT ALL in any era reading all the horrific, judgemental comments here. louise bourgeois propagates a horrible outlook on life. many people that made bad traumatic experiences feel drawn to her naturally as she glorifies dark entities within a misconception of getting power over them once you make them conscious when in reality she just reinforces them, reinitiates them. her art is demonic. several of her sculptures were inspired by serial killer victims. if you dwelve into this aesthetically youre entangled into misery and in for bad surprises in your life. her art is vampiristic, it draws the energy out of you, except for when you become a energy vampire yourself.

The modern art market seems to have nothing to do with an interpretation of the world around us expressing that with an artistic skill a lot of the time.
