im having issues getting ore gen to work. i believe i have everything correct. is there really no java code related to the generation?

Great tutorial as always ! I just have one issue, the strenght of my ore block doesn't change. I made it behave like coal ore but when I try to mine it with a diamond pickaxe it's like I'm breaking it with bare hands. What did I miss?

Question: Can you remove the deepslate portion of the configured_feature overworld_example_ore.json so that only the standard ore can break?

Honestly just a matter of trying things. I wish I could give you a better answer but tbh I can't. Minecraft Modding is just something you learn over time through trial and error. You can often find examples of most things on github too and on rare occasion in the community wiki. However, by far the best resource out there is actually discord. You will learn a lot just from seeing others get their problems solved or helping others to solve their problems as it requires you to look at problems from a different perspective. There's loads of minecraft modding related servers. Mine is linked in the description of every video I make.

When I try joining my world, I have to load it in "safe mode" and it always fails. When I try creating a new world, minecraft just crashes. Can someone please help me?

Same here. I don't know why. The logs say something is wrong in my configured_feature. Wich actually was, I wrote my mod package name wrong. But even after fixing that, the error still occured.

And I have a similar problem that I still haven't been able to fix. And indeed there is an error in "configured_feature", but everything is spelled out correctly in the file.

So I've noticed, the x-ray resource pack isn't as useful as i first thought. The main problem i noticed is that it doesn't reveal any of our modded blocks that are buried, only the texture exposed to air shows. kind of sad really :/

well yes because if the faces aren't exposed to air then they are culled, so there simply is no face to render, and there isnt really a way round this without a mod

IM having troubles with oregen got it exactly how u got it and try to create a world and it crashes claiming something with the gui breaks
