Thank you everyone for 10k views! I really did not expect that. It seems that the more effort I put into a video, the better it is. Who would've thought 🤔 It took me hundreds of hours practicing Bastions and one and a half months for the video alone. I'm planning the Trial Chambers next, but I'll start on the project once the first release candidate drops. Hopefully I won't get burnout on the project. Love you all 💜 Edit: The Trial Chambers are going to have more fixes in 1.21.2 as further finalized changes to the structures are planned! This means that I will have to postpone my upcoming video as well to keep it updated. 2nd June: 50k views, holy cow! 20th July: 100k, I am on vacation and speechless.

About this time last year, I investigated bastion structure/raiding as I thought this structure is relatively new and underrated. I was unable to find a comprehensive guide for it or any information regarding the exact position of the loot. So, after viewing some speedrunner's guide to bastions, I loaded all parts of the bastions with structure blocks and remembered the positions as well as patterns for the loot. I did not come up with a well honed "route" for each bastion but instead remembered where loot is and how they are connected. I also did not look into mob AI for easier raiding. These two points presented in the video are invalueable as no one ever covered such topic before. I have some tips that I believe should help. 1. "Routes": For treasure bastion, I have a different strategy in terms of raiding the treasure cube room that i think is viable for more conservative players. First approach from the lava moats, and go to the right of the bridge, count 3 blocks from the start of lava moat and dig into the treasure room. If a chest generated on this side, you should bump right into it. From this position, observe if there are any more chests(way introduced in the video) and bridge toward them following the basalt. This procedure should be relatively safe as this layer is quite seperated from others, and only has few piglins guarding the chests. Furthermore, there should be gaps that the piglin(brute) cannot pathfind through. Then, retreat from the hole in the wall and go two blocks from the lava moat. Dig down and count y level so you don't fall into lava if the bastion generates above lava lake. Then, at the right y level, dig forward and emerge at a corner of the bottom floor of the treasure room. At this position, no piglins can reach you, and you can utilize your bow or the mob pathfinding mechanics in the video. Then, after all is cleared, approach the treasure section, remember that as soon as you cross the line dividing the treasure area and the lava, the spawner will be activated. After filling the spawn space of spawner with blocks, you can do whatever you want as even strong aggro will not cause piglins to be able to reach you. If you approach the "gold block area" from the back, you can see most gold blocks directly and never face any piglin. 2. Tips: Use hopper if you are very conservative as breaking or opening them will not aggro piglins Use invis potion if you want to be 100% sure, as there is a special interaction with players under invis and piglins If you feel unsafe, place boats in junctions so you can run through them while piglin brutes are stuck If you want to be more sure, place a block on top of the boat so whatever normal height mob that is in the boat suffocates automatically If you want to be extremely safe, use lava bucket and fire res potion to demolish all piglins with no skill. If you place twisted vines in open areas, you can clime them in a sticky situation, as mobs are not motivated to climb if there are no blocks next to the vines. Don't try to place down soul fire related stuff to scare off piglins, as this fear is overriden when they aggro onto player If you think piglins look scary, try to think their nose as their eyes.
@Johnden4 ай бұрын
Thank you for such neatly written comment! • The AI of the Piglins seemed pretty misunderstood and I've never seen any bastion video on the topic, so I'm happy to see I was one of the first ones to test it. Mainly because people often get discouraged raiding a bastion once they've experienced the brutes jumping even if pillaring up. • That's a really nice way to loot a bastion, I might give it a try. Especially if playing with the VR mod or possibly on Bedrock Edition (except the AI there is completely different). My approach is more "speedrunner" style with minimum resources, where you haven't even been to a nether fortress to acquire blaze rods, therefore invis potions. During the end game, the Bastions can be sweeped through with decent armor and an elytra, but I think that would make the video not only boring to watch, but confusing at times. It also motivates people to loot the bastion without requiring end game stuff. • The tips are very beginner-friendly and I like it. I only utilized the lava which is the safest option. • Back then I couldn't see it at first, but when reading a comment one day I saw the pig-chan and didn't see anything else for months. Nowadays I see the snout, but viewing any screenshot I see a piglin hoodie 😁

You clearly have a very good understanding of bastions and I appreciate you making content like this for newer players such as myself but you haven't done so in a particularly friendly manner for new players. For example at 19:40 the start of the Housing Bastion and you start it off by saying starting at this block facing a wall which looks like every single wall in the entire bastion. A guide starting from the outside and doing a full explanatory run would be much easier imo

I love this. Guides like these is what both impresses me but also makes me appreciate these structures more, despite they're difficulty. This guide honestly feels more of everything you need to know about Bastions rather than how to just raid it. This isn't some cheap, boring guide, this is just pure perfection. Absolutely amazing my man! I would love for you to cover Ancient Cities, although their loot isn't the best (you only really care for the trims and echo shards), the structures themselves as TOUGH as hell! If you don't know how to deal with it of course. I'd just be super interested in your take/guide for Ancient Cities. I can understand if you don't really want to do one, especially given the very mediocre loot. Hopefully they add better loot in the future. Thats about all I wanted to say but when I first saw this, I was so impressed, and still am. Well done! 🎉

as a HC player, I go with the third option when looting the treasure bastion. Since I go from top to bottom by clearing out all the piglins and brutes first then proceeding to go down a floor until none of them will be attacking. Then on the other side of it, I just pillar up to the chests and gold, create a small barrier for crossbows, and take them from a distance

For bedrock edition most of the stuff stays the same apart from the AI which is very different. So Piglin Brutes in Bedrock do less damage than in Java, but are still dangerous. If you have totems, you are more than ready to fight them off. The structure itself generates the same way as in Java. Good luck!

@@Johnden I DID IT JOHN! I did your exact strategy! My friend was too scared to join me, however we are late game and wish to get netherite. So what i did instead was find piglin brutes and lead them to the trap so i could kill them with lava. It worked like a charm! I ended up using the enderpearl strategy that you showed off, and instead of going on the main bridge i went on to the bridge near the left. I ended up getting hashtag! Other bastions have a 10% chance for the upgrade template. Bridge can have 3-7 chests. (~5 on average) Housing can have 6-25 chests. (10.2 on average) Stables can have 4-28 chests. (10 on average) So the best one for chests heavily relies on RNG. Housing and Stables seem to have more chests on average. The max value is insanely rare because not every chest has the same chance of generating. The chance to get max stable chests which is 16 chests 22.2% chance for each. That’s like 1 in 28 billion.

@JohndenАй бұрын
Treasure is obvious. Housing's right rampart is always the tallest one. And it's on the right when looking at the double chest near the entrance to the lower part of the rampart. Bridge's left and right ramparts are identical only for the upper section (chests). Viewed from the chalice, the right rampart has the gold hidden in the walls, the left rampart has the lodestone chest with a lower rampart section with 3 gold. Stables left and right is viewed from the entrance chest (located in the bottom middle). In the grand scheme of things it doesn't really matter. The more you explore bastions, the easier it is to wrap your head around the layout and not get lost.
