I feel like every Otakon artist vlog I've seen this year has had at least one item stolen from their booth. It's wild how one convention can have so much theft and pretty disappointing too.

theft is unfortunately a very common we face in artist alley 😔 we artists do what we can to deter people from stealing but it still occasionally happens. thankfully, the amount of kind attendees completely outweigh the few bad apples!

Hi, loved the video! I found it very insightful. I have a question if you don't mind answering. I was here as an attendee this year and want to try to aim for a spot in artist alley next year. I was wondering whether booth/table sharing is exclusive to unlimited booths or if it's possible to do it with the other types of tables too? I checked the Artist Alley info and it just says it's possible to table share with one other artist but I'm not exactly sure if it applies to all tables or just the Unlimited Booth you mentioned.

Im just starting my journey with artist alley and hotspot is my biggest stressor followed by inventory 😂 May I ask if you let people know about sales tax when they're paying, or do you just eat up the cost?

hotspot issues is def a biggest stressor during events 😭 sales tax is paid by the customers! i set it to whatever the rate is for the city i'm vending in. similarly to how people anticipate paying sales tax on anything purchased in their day to day life, it's the same when buying from artists at conventions! i also say something along the lines of "your total after tax is $__" so they're not surprised when the final cost is a bit more than the base price of the item(s) 😊
