Alot of people are calling this masjid a great initiative, it truly is but I would like to add that there are other mosques and Islamic centers in Calgary, the biggest mosque is around 30000 sq ft mosque called "akram jomaa Islamic center" it has an Islamic school aswell, my friend lives in an area where there was no mosque, so local people gave church to have Eid prayers for Muslims of the community.

Also wanted to add; the reason things are more expensive in the US/ Canada is bcos culturally, there is VALUE placed upon someone's work. Whether that is plumbing, furniture, or a cake. Everything and everyone has value...society works towards some semblance of equality. The furniture might not look a certain way but its value is placed on the fact of the labor/material/cost of movement. Whereas in Pakistan or other developing countries, especially those coming out of colonial rule, classism reigns supreme; where you have huge divides between the elite and the poor, and your work denotes your class (eg-metal worker or furniture maker = poor class). Not the same case here.
