Just wanted to check in to say I followed this tutorial, and it came out SO amazing! Any weird looking parts were on me for not executing well, the tutorial itself was very clear and helpful. My husband was FLOORED by the significant difference between the piece following this tutorial and my previous pieces. Thank you so, so much for this video! I encourage other viewers who are interested to buy the book (or go the download and transfer route if it's too pricey for the book at the moment) and follow along! Kaiteki-sensei explains things so well, and while at first it's kind of scary thinking of messing up, you get absorbed in it so, so fast! I would recommend watching the entirety of each individual section (background, skin, hair, etc), then rewind after to follow the tutorial for the section. There were some parts where Kaiteki-sensei explains something, but because I got ahead of her at times, I flubbed the technique and got a different result than I wanted because of it. So definitely will be doing that on the next one!

Thank you for this tutorial, and I'm looking forward to watching you explain using the glitter paints! This is so gorgeous, I can't wait till I can squeeze in time to print the line art, transfer it to watercolor paper, and follow the whole tutorial myself
How do you paint without bleeding through the paper?

I’m doing tessellation in painting class and my paint literally always bleed through the paper. Don’t know if it is the paper or me just using to much water. Need some painting tutorials 🥲

@@BLINK5933 Hopefully she'll answer you, but I think in previous video's she's mentioned to, as you said, avoid overloading the brush with water, to give the paper chances to dry before having at it again, and to also not go over the same areas too many times (the last one may have been how to avoid having colors unintentionally mix, but I think it likely is also helpful for not destroying the paper). In her ASMR video she just posted on the main channel, right as I noticed bits of paper coming up, she mentioned that she wasn't using the usual glass pen paper, so paper may be part of your issue, too. Google-fu says to not use anything less than 200 gsm paper.
