You just saved me a ton of money as I was going to try that also! I have been wondering why my Scalextric cars have such short in depth guide blades. Anyway if I didn't have my Carrera track I would invest in policar because of the rougher surface for more traction and less width of the track🏁

Yeah don't bother with scalextric track only if you want something to set up and take down and try once and a while as it's no way like the carrera your used to. Thanks for watching.

Thanks Steve. I think the braids on ScaeX cars are just softer and chew faster. I already had to change a braid set for my Scalex Subaru after a few good runs. Maybe a bad set but that was my experience so far.

Hi bud, It is the opposite scalextrics braids are a harder metal than the normal copper braids you find on slot cars, it may be because they are not as wide now I am thinking but they don't wear that fast on the cars we ran on the policar track well at least I don't think they did because our scalex cars we owned all the braids did not look to bad on them? Who knows all I know is the track system is no ware on par with carrera or policars track. Thanks for looking.

Yeah kind of wished I never bought it ...I should have known I had it in the 90's one time and then some of my club members made scalextric sport tracks in like 2000 and then got rid of it for carrera because it was not good. O well just wanted it for the arc air concept but that's not even working how they say it should!

Scalextric cars have always overheated, they do wear out the braids out fast I wonder if copper would be better. But quality have gone down a lot on things.

Hi it's all from there track the track joints are not smooth so it tears into the braid and the cars get hot because the cars magnets stick way harder to there cheap tin metal rails as the other tracks I spoke of have a stainless steel ix rail and the magnets don't stick as hard to it. Hope this helps.

@@BSslotcars The cars got hot before they had magnets and we even had controllers that melted but that was in the 60s-70s 🙂

I have a Scalextric track and I have tried Policar, the main reason I still have Scalextric track is the price you can pick it up. If I had Policar then it would be 3 times the price. Carrera is a good system but the space needed is huge. I think it is a case of what works for each person. Policar would be my choice if I started again.

Hi yes you can get the scalextric for less money and there's a reason why because of all the not so good about it I mentioned in my video, Like I said in my video and you may not of seen it I would rather have my policar track on my table than10 times the amount of scalextric track because the policar is so much better. I wonder if it's possible to remove the scalextric control module from the track and solder the wires to a section of policar track? The lap counter might be tricky to move to another track though.

Hi I am thinking you probably can do it but it's probably not worth it because you will have to drive with the wireless scalextric controllers and they are not so good compared to our controllers we use for racing the scalextric ones are kind of toyish. Thanks for watching.

No they have it they been making 1/32 track for like ever but they just like the rubbery flex type track and the rails the way they are and just never changed it? Thanks for looking.

Excuse me but I don't know Scalextric, not everybody is english, is the modern Scalextric track the old Scalextric Sport track? What attracts me most of romanian Policar system are the adapters for Polistil vintage tracks, as I heard that Ninco was the most similar to Polistil, I suppose they could be the best choice to keep alive also Ninco tracks. Carrera, well, I've seen various shops selling Carrera items, does Scalextric be so good to justify its importation?

That is a thorough demolition of Scaley sports track. It truly is the worst track system on the market for every single reason you mentioned. It's a shame the once mighty have fallen to the bottom of the pile but they don't seem to care they're just trading on their nowadays, not on the products they make.

Well that could be the final review that sinks scalextric like the first Stig because if they don’t listen after this honest review there’s no justification for the price rises and people will stop paying it’s only time

Yeah I tried my best I though maybe people would think I was bashing scalextric and get upset but I am truly only telling what I found from owning and racing on the track compared to the other tracks I owned and raced on. not much good about scalextric other than you can set it up and take it down fast just to play around with.
