Anyone who thinks Sickert was the Ripper simply has not examined the available evidence. Cornwall did a lot of damage with that ludicrous theory of hers -- but on the other hand gave an important artist a great deal of publicity, no bad thing. Just wish more attention paid to the whole of Sickert's work. Should be obvious that while eccentric he was very far from being some sort of bloody-handed lunatic, driven by urges he could not control.

@Dave Eco Angel Peer deeply into the mirror, Angel. There you will certainly find a greater fool than I. Accusations against Sickert in connection with the Ripper have long since been disproved. The actual Ripper has been discovered. If you feel up to it you can discover this for yourself, just as did I.

It's also inconvenient that there is a lot of evidence that he was in France when the murders were committed. Never let the truth get in the way of a good story though as they say.

To Dave Eco Angel: I salute you, sir and wish you best possible outcomes. It takes a good man, etc. I now strongly suspect you are one of those. Be safe and well.

Ehhhh, wwwrrrrronnng! M I C H A E L M A Y B R I C K -brother to James, the also most ludicrous candidate to be put forward. Michael however, hated his brother, hated women, positively despised James’ wife Florence. Michael was a master forgerer, and lastly, he was was the John Lennon/Paul McCartney of his day. The biggest selling musician of the entire 19th century........ ‘Danny Boy’, -his work. If you truly believe Sickert was your man, then you can’t go backwards if you consider Michael? I really do urge you to read “They all love Jack” as, there is more, no, too much evidence pointing towards him being the Ripper. How sickert gets this attention over Michael Maybrick is absolutely astonishing? The reason? Well, the less this evidence is entertained the better it is to keep ripperologists in work(tv exposure). This is why Stephen knight was given the bullshit story of the Royal angle. Going with it ruined that authors career as a credible writer. Kind of warning off anyone of exposing Freemason secrets of that period.

Its true that the man was a very...interesting artist. But I also believe that the amount of evidence suggesting that he was responsible for the Whitechapel Murders and many of the letters sent to the paper and police at the time is a damning amount. There is simply too much evidence against him for it to all be simply coincidental. I think saying that it was impossible for this man to be Jack the Ripper when was well known to be violent against women in both his art and his daily life is simply idiotic.

Interesting. You changed your question twice. I wounder why? The evidence of which I speak is the subject of a book by Patrica Cromwell. Portrait of a Killer, I believe is the tittle. I would be more than happy to discus the matter more if you would be so kind as to explain the meaning of your user name. Call it quid pro quo.

Well, I would have to agree with From Hell being ridiculous. As for the other, what makes you believe that it is fictitious?
