I just found your lovely KZbin channel a couple days ago and now I find myself binge watching you. 🤣 While going to the bathroom, nursering my baby, bringing her sisters to bed. Thank you so much for showing the world your home and personality and all the information you give on looking after houseplants. I've learned so much and now I don't have to rely on this Planta app to keep my all 140 of them alive. 🪴 Thank you for the company while I got caught up too! I've used the warm towel trick on my Bird of Paradise too! I still can't figure why the leaves want to curl... It's hydrated and has plenty of light. I've shifted the humidifier a bit closer. 🤞 And I've been looking for that Schismatoglottis cuz it's stunning! I'm sorry you've lost some plants but I've been inspired by your willingness to part with those that no longer bring you joy. Thanks! Hope you're all rested and that it's cooled off a bit. Poor Joli! I had a rescue pooch who took a bit of training but came around. Lots of love and reassurance along with exposure to the things that triggered her (in a safe environment) worked wonders! 🌈 Happy Pride Month! Love your snail! Be well! 💚

One of my birds curls with too much direct sun. It’s done it 3 times and I’ve moved it and tried again so I know that’s what it is. I think it’s my orange not my white.

@@lindaleef Mine's white and I turned off its Sansi bulb for a couple months - no change - so I raised the light and turned it back on for the benefit of all the other plants in the area. Maybe I should treat it for pests? I clean it with Neem... Don't see any bugs and it's still putting out leaves. Could it need a bigger pot? I'm using the slow method transitioning my Monstera D to semi-hydro and when that bucket is free I could try it for the Bird...

Yes it so hot! We are baking here in S Cal and with no A/C I keep many of my plants in the bathroom ( in the large bathroom) for the humidity as its dry here and my tropical plants hate it but do very well in the bathroom (no crispy bits at all) Thank you for the motivation (hard to get going when its so hot) I did my plant chores with you I do love the long videos,love Jolie and my little dogs hate it when I knock things about !!

It could be that your Strelitzia is working on a flower… I think your plant is old enough for it anyway. Mine now has three ‘leaves’ that are not unfurling for weeks and weeks and I know in the fall they will probably turn into flowers. But early on it is very hard to tell the difference between leaf and flower so just continue caring for it and be patient 😃

Maybe you can move the bird of paradise into the corner where the monstera is now and then reset the others around that move! I feel it could give you a whole room revamp just by moving one big plant because it’s such a big one and I think it’ll fill that spot out nicely!! ❤

Happy Pride y'all! I rearranged my plants yesterday and it took me forever to actualy get everything in place. But I knew that's going to happen, the issue with buying small plants that can get big xD after a year they all exploded in size! Btw don't attatch your dog directly to you. The chance of you getting dragged/ injured is very high unless you want to go out in full protective gear. If you get dragged you could seriously injure your head if you fall for example.

As far as getting things out and trying again, why don’t you just do like, one quarter or half of the room at a time? Yank everything out say, by the window, and then grab stuff from elsewhere, put it in there, and so on and so forth?

I am the same way with chaos following me ! Pretty sure it’s just part of ADHD and not having spatial awareness. I can’t do anything with plants without soil on the floor one way or another. (A few of my plants also have pet hair mixed in for the same reason yours does 😅) But my very tidy husband basically just follows me around with the vacuum at this point.

How did you use the diatomaceous earth because I tried dusting it on my plants and it just collected a bunch of water around the base of and rotted out the new growth at the soil line and caused bunch of deformations in the leaves that had not unfurled yet. I heard you can dilute it in water?

So I did the major haircut of my aquatic plants, glass cleaning and routine partial water change. Thanks for your effort pushing through the video and being such a nice "work together buddy". Reactive dog owner here too! My 3 year old presa is dog reactive. He absolutely loves people and every other animal on the planet but hates other dogs ( he was attacked by off lead dogs when he was a pup). Walking him can be so stressful! It does help when other dog owners are understanding and not being arseholes about it . Big hugs to Yoli ❤❤

Oh Claire! I had the same happen with my reactive rescue baby. He is the most content at home and great with kids, its just other male dogs that trigger him My doggo broke off the lead, and it was a bit awful what he did. The owner of the other dog was understanding also thank god

in terms of reactivity - there are amazing leads that get attached to your waist but also have a leash in your hand :} i recommend. me myself have a reactive Sheppy - we tried so many trainings and ofc it is better but i can never trust her ;] so having precautions gives me less stress. it is nice to hear though that you are very responsible owner and had nice experience with owner of another dog.
