1/6 Willys MB Scaler Drivers and Steering Arm Mod

Nice mod..👍 I freed up the shoulder and elbow joints on both arms of my 1/6th driver and added a couple of micro servos in his chest to operate his head and right arm to change gear. I also upgraded the steering wheel servo from a supplied micro to a higher torque mini. I removed the steering servo's mounting box and stuck the mini servo to the plastic chassis. The driver can look around independently of the steering and change gear on a separate switch on my aero Tx. Enjoy your model...👍

@@AdventureTimeRC He's not a pretty boy with his shirt off any more but that's all covered under his army shirt fortunately. I like the independent head movement so he can look into either mirror when reversing, look slightly round a bend before turning or just give a glance sideways on a drive by, plus pulling the gear stick back before reversing looks realistic..🙂

I love this video. I really enjoyed comparing the different figures from various brands and having the chance to study the accessories, especially the Thompson, the Ka-Bar, the snub-nose 38 and the captured Luger. I'd have liked to have had a look at the service pistol - presumably a Colt 1911 - though! The release of this 1:6 scale Jeep saved you modifying a static scale model, and the manufacturers certainly did a great job of making it look realistic, even down to the full depth footwell. Your driver choice is a natural fit behind the wheel - he looks very much at home!

Man your really smart you did a real awesome job on this video the hooks on the soldiers arm made him look even cooler Now he is a bionic soldier the amount of time and work that goes into something like this awesome every little tiny detail is so cool I bet it took some real small hand and fingers to do that kind of detail.👍👊

They are nice figures and lots of bits. I have my 3 figures for the Carrier and they cost a lot of money as they are Dragon you go some bargains there. That is strange you converted the arm the same I did to a HM armed forces figure but was given a really good Dragon for my Jeep. It needs a arm mod but do not know if I want to do it to a dear figure.

Oh yes Malcom I had the same struggle that is why I bought the cheaper click n play figure I couldn't bring myself to cut the gi Joe arms they were just to nice I wasn't to get a dragon brand they make some really nice figures

Pretty cool mod. I'm sure you've noticed that once you get figures and gear in there the suspension is pretty mushy and tends to ride down on the stops. I fixed that with a simple swap to Traxxas 7448 springs and just replacing the rear springs made a world of difference. You can see the spring swap at this link. I know what you mean about too many projects, but I moved the SAS desert raider project to the front of the line and kitbashed an ROC Hobby MB scaler using the Dragon 1/6 Desert Raider kit for parts and the Vickers machine guns. You can see it in the spring upgrade video sitting behind the stock jeep, and there's lots of videos on that project at my channel but I think you might like what I have in mind next, A rocket launcher jeep that shoots actual 1/2 inch bottle rockets. I've been hoping motion rc would put them on sale again like they did last black Friday, when they were $199.00 with free shipping. I picked one up for the desert raider, but now I wish I had bought two!! @@AdventureTimeRC
