I still remember the first time I heard it. I was just in awe. Animal Crossing has always been very good about the music in their games, especially the hourly themes, but this one was exceptionally soothing and truly beautiful. It almost makes me tear up. Ugh, so good.

How much time has it passed by? you're not even sure... 3, 5, 7 years? anyway, you're back now, but ir doesn't matter anymore. You step a foot into the town, it's winter, christmas is soon to come, but you don't see the trees with lights as you always did. All the colorful houses are decaying, they seem empty. You remember the bulletin board, and go right to it. There is one single note stick on the center. You take it into your hands. "Dear mayor, i'm not sure if you will ever read this, but i'm putting my feelings on it. This town hasn't been the same ever since you left. We tought you would only be gone for a week, maybe for a vacation, but we waited and waited, and you didn't came back. I tried to take care of everything for a while, but... sometimes things just don't work. We all decided that it's for the best, that we may try living in another place. ...I still remember the day you came into this town, you were confused with the warm reception, and didn't wanted to take the role as a mayor, but i tought you did great! The villagers are asking me to hurry up now, we are not sure where we are going yet but... i'm sure everything will be fine!" The note finished there. You hold back some tears, looking up to the sky, the snow falls down on your face, as you close your eyes. You hear the clock, apparently still working. It's now 1 A.M.

I love reading the comments of animal crossing related videos and everyone's different stories. It's comforting to know how special animal crossing is to other people too. I recently got a new DS cause mine, along with my game copies sadly got lost years ago. I started playing nl and ww again and it has been really healing. I find this song so calming and grounding for some reason. I was so anxious tonight but played this and journaled and it helped so much. I love every ac soundtrack but ww and nl especially as they were the games I played the most when I was younger. I remember making an old friend a 'mixtape' of the ww soundtrack for their birthday many years ago with 'artwork' I made on paint, would love to know what that looked like!

I lost 3 of my dses and almost all of my other belongings in a move a few years ago. I was only 13. That included my New Leaf file Ive worked on for a good year. Just recently I got my late dad's old switch and just today (7/29) I got Wild World for my DSi I had when I moved. It brings me a sense of comfort playing Wild World and New Horizons, but it'll never replace the hole in my heart for New Leaf. Im hoping just someday I will get a 3DS just to play New Leaf again. I hope you're having fun, because Im having the best time I can do with.

This song is really special to me. I was a late starter with New Leaf. Only getting it back in 2017. Now, that was a really.... really weird time for me. A lot was changing, I was realizing I wasn't who I wanted to be, and all in all, my life wasn't on a good track. Then I picked up a 3ds and Animal Crossing at a game store. Played for 12 hours that day, and then my playtime had only gotten more and more insane on some days. Since my life wasn't in a good place back then, I didn't have a consistent sleep schedule, only really just sleeping when I was tired and up when I wasn't. But this track was always a small reminder that no matter how much I used this game to escape from life, I was never truly free from it. I still had to prepare for the world ahead of me. I still never truly feel like I moved past that part of me, but I also can say that I also do feel like I have? I's an odd feeling that I don't quite understand. All in all Animal Crossing New Leaf is my favorite entry in the franchise, and somehow I feel more nostalgic for it than the original despite playing the original for so much longer. The only thing that comes even close is City Folk and that is still miles behind. Animal Crossing is such an important franchise to me, and evidently a lot of other people, it's unfortunate that so many overlook it for reasons like "Ew that furry game?" for example. Not every player is a furry, but sure, if you wanna miss out on something fantastic, go ahead and let trash judgement get in the way. I can't thank this entire series enough for being there for me in the darkest and brightest of times for me. it's been there my whole life just when I need it.

I used to stay up this late just to hear this song, especially when it was raining in my town. I would just walk around, and when I got too tired I set the 3DS down for a bit and just chilled before turning it off. Gods this game was so special ❤

When I got this game, it was summer 2013. I was 15 years old, almost 16. Back in 2014, I met my girlfriend. We've been together for ten years now. In 2015, during a summer vacation with her, I remember taking long walks in the night, holding hands, listening to the peaceful silence of the beach interrupted by the waves, the soft breeze making the leaves on the pine trees nearby move and create that soft brushing sound. The comfortable temperature, the empty beach, and the comfort of having each other. It was perfect. One of those days, we shared my 3DS and played ACNL for a bit after one of the late night walks. It was always at around 1 AM that we would come home, and this song stuck with me ever since. The memories take us both back to a time when things were more innocent. We were younger, different, less occupied with life, without responsibilities aside from coming to the beach apartment with her parents not too late. I love her so much.

I had many encounters with new friends i made on the game, people irl i played with back then, and yeah, some of us gotta get jobs or some people move on. Lifez always changing, but imo this is the best life to live and experience, still cherish and play the game, since its gonna be gone in a couple months

hey i just read this comment and wanted to let you know as a person who wasn’t born too late, this game was as magical as you might expect, i only have fond memories of this game from my early childhood years like going on the island and just having a blast with people ive never met before but were just as full of joy and creativity as me, i even met my #1 i still talk to more or less every day on acnl back 5-6 years ago. this game was unlike any other and there will never be another animal crossing like it.

I think what makes new leaf the best is the nostalgia. New leaf was when fans truely grew, going from a small fanbase to large. nintendo devs said 'lets just create' and they did it. there's nothing bad about new leaf. I can't think of anything I hated or anything that pissed me off. it's just pure relaxing fun and talking to villagers. they created. A lot of people were kids too, during early-late NL. Really helps boost the nostalgia. I remember I was on a trip to like.. 3 themeparks in brisbane / the gold coast and because I had gotten a 3ds earlier that year from my grandparents, my mom let me and my brother pick out a game. I was this close to grabbing detective pikachu, but my brother snatched it first so i was like ' no point getting 2 of the same game '. I recall going to grab a mario game then animal crossing catching my eye. I ended up getting it because of the animals. Lifechanging, literally. It was not only the highlight of the trip but still stands as probably my favourite game. Sitting around and playing it outside in the cold, listening to the late at night music on the car drives where we had to drop my dad off in the airport at 3am, playing it during roadtrips. It was the best. My first ever villager (at least, the jock type) was boone. The baboon monkey. I loved him, I think i would've visited him every day if I didn't get burnout. It sucks I deleted my savefile and eventually traded my 3ds in for my switch. I still love NH, it's a much better game than New Leaf if I looked at it without growing up on it. I'll just never not be fond of New Leaf, too many memories

Back in 2014, I had just moved away from all my family and friends to attend college. I was incredibly lonely. I remember crawling under my comforter late at night to play New Leaf. I used to play this game back in it's hayday. I wasn't totally happy, but I loved my house. I loved my garden. I loved my grandpa. I loved playing with my 3DS, I loved talking to my online bf about it. Not everything was okay, but I loved every second of those sleepless summer nights I would spend on the cold floor because it was too hot. But then everything changed. As all does in life. I've lost nearly everything I loved in these last years. And no matter what happens, I just can't be the happy child I once was. Life's just too hard for me. I'm not cut out for it. It's all so hard. I want to go back to being the child I was, and not a sad adult who can't do anything right and can't accomplish his dreams. But now, I will press on instead of lamenting what I miss. This will be a long and horrible road, but one that I must walk. If not for the sakes of the ones who have passed away, then for my friends and family. Good night, Reader. I played this game for almost 7 years(During my whole late childhood and teenager years) I stopped playing during 2 years ,suddenly,nostalgia hit me some days ago so I had a urge to play it. It was sounding this theme in my town and I started remembering about my past and childhood(Which is strongly linked with the game) just to notice how fast time goes and how ephemeral life really is. All the friends I had there,all the person I had ever meet there,all the moments,everything has gone forever.
