I’ve been an Alabama fan since I came out my mommas womb.... got infant pictures in Crimson and White..... and I’ve noticed a pattern with myself and a lot of my other Bama bros and sis’s...... if we don’t score on every play, or sack the QB every other snap and only allow 50 yards rushing and 125 yds passing a game, at least I’ve not been satisfied in the past.... however the times have changed, the way the game is played has changed and Coach Saban has adapted better than any other coach in history, and when you have an offense like we have, nearly unstoppable and quite frankly score whenever the coach decides to run a slant, it’s a different style of defense you have to have giving the fact that they’ll be on the field a lot more. I think we are fine, very young and injured on defense and if you really look at it from a “NOT BAMA FAN” view, we have a decent defense. LSU will be a great game, but let’s face it, SABAN WILL ADJUST FOR JOE BARROW

AggieEngineer1 lol not really skill. Defense communication was awful by bama, the defense couldn’t contain the QB and their O-line created running lanes for him. If the pocket splits right down the middle with a huge gap and their QB doesn’t have a man in front waiting on him then of course he’s going to make a big play. His throwing wasn’t really that good. A lot of times he made a throw was to wide open guys and even I can throw it to a wide open man. Also, Clemson isn’t doing so hot this year

256 bradley a lot of times it’s when the QB gets a scramble because the d-line can’t contain and the QB could buy time and create an opening because the secondary comes off their man. Either that or guys are just wide open and not covered on defense. Secondary this game was awful. Mostly communication issues though

It not just the fact that they play nobody. They also stay very healthy and rested every year with 80% of their games being blowouts. So by the end of the year they are fresh and ready to play the big games. The NFL looks for equality, they want teams to be as equal as possible, hence the worst teams get the best draft picks and easier schedule, to help get them competitive. In my opinion The Pack 12 is the closest thing to that. Those teams just beat up on each other week after week, and they are riddle with injuries by the end of the season.

Alabama has an injured and beat up defense already that's why they aren't doing so well the last time we lost the iron bowl we had over half of our starting defense out due to injury but once they recovered we won the national championship. John Heyrich yeah more dominant on defense, but not scoring more than 24 points says something about the offense. Personally don’t think Trevor Lawrence is that good, he relies too much on the O-line and running backs. North Carolina exposed that. Only reason they scored and went up was because Lawrence threw to a wide open man to score. Their defense is solid but their offense really needs work. You might say, “oh, well they scored 40 on Florida state” well that’s true but look at the stats. 170 passing yards, 3 TD’s and 1 Interception from Lawrence, that’s not impressive. The running game had way more yards than he threw for. He also threw two picks against Georgia tech who lost to the citadel lmao. Also look at the stats for that game too, Travis etienne rushed for over 200 yards. Another team who is a run heavy team is Georgia. We all saw what happened to them against South Carolina if they couldn’t get the running game going. Auburn scored more than Clemson did and had a more dominant game until the final quarter.

I'm not on the committee, but as a humble Bama fan, the only thing moving us to #1 does is puts a bigger target on our back and jinx us. That's just my take. I've been around since Saban's second year and seen many of our good teams drink the press Kool Aid, think they're invincible, play at their opponent's level, and lose. Chris Mac seems like the move has worked out well in terms of program development. A&M used to be in the shadows of UT Austin. Now that A&M is in the SEC it has gained some much needed recognition that had been missing before. It has payed off and now A&M is at least playing competitively against the toughest teams in the country with the only real blowout losses to Alabama and LSU. Other than that A&M is now among the best at recruiting for the last two years (most importantly attracting much better players than UT). Above all A&M has become the most valuable and wealthiest college football program in the country. All we need now is for the Aggies to have a breakout season. Hopefully we’ll start seeing a dramatic difference with these up and coming top ranked classes that had been missing for years prior before even joining the SEC.
