I love Alamat! Thank you for reacting to them. Just want to share some information about the group: •Group Concept - Alamat means legend in English. They are a group that was literally formed to promote Filipino culture. They're all in their early 20's as of this year. The outfits that they usually wear in their videos are either re-imagined tribal/traditional outfits or period era outfits from Philippine history. Their sound is a fusion of native tribal beats/instrumentals and modern pop/r&b, I believe, and so are their dances a fusion of traditional (hence the coconuts in KBye) and modern dances. Lastly, each member is taken from a specific ethnic group from their own regional district across the entire country that has their own unique and distinct local language, so the members would incorporate in their songs lyrics that are native from the region and language they represent. •Regarding the decreasing number of their members - in the very beginning, they were 9 members, but one left for unknown reason. They were eight for a while, it was then that I discovered them, and it was during the height of pandemic. But two more members (one of them was actually one of my biases 😭) left due to personal reasons, but they parted in good conscience, unlike the very first member that left. •Songs & MVs - most of their songs center on love and romance, because Filipinos are generally hopeless romantics and adore timeless love songs. However, for KASMALA, in particular, the video hinted on a dark period in our history during American colonization (you may want to look into the concept of that particular video to know more about the intentional cultural & historical integration that was poured in making that video), so while lyrically the song talked about being enamored to a particular lady, we may interpret the lady as USA since even today, a lot of Filipinos (sadly) are beholden by Americans. By the way, they just released their latest MV titled MAHARANI, you may want to watch it, too, if you're interested. Remember to turn on captions, though, for English subtitles. Again, thank you for checking out Alamat. More power to you both and your channel. Love from 🇵🇭Pinas

31:52 All of the boys are adults. The youngest looking one is the oldest. As for the scene with the boy who has "spread his legs," it is a member who is wearing his traditional indegenous attire, tied to a bamboo pole. It is in reference to a picture of a toddler of the same tribe tied to a pole in New York City who was used as a display for the public. Every scene in the Kasmala video represents a time in American Colonial Philippines when tribes people were brought to the US to be displayed at human zoos, to work as cheap labor, and were targeted for hate crimes.

Thank you for reacting to Alamat, always open your subtitles so you can understand. Alamat uses different Filipino languages, kbye is their first debut song, Kasmala uses different indigenous tribes dressed and the music video mainly revolves around the 1904 St. Louis World Fair, a real event in April 1904 where fair organizers brought Filipino natives and other tribespeople from different countries to the fair in America and displayed them as if they were animals in a zoo. In their previous songs they're 9 of them.. the three of them left the group, as you can see in say you love they're 6 of them... They are all adults. Pls react also to their pasulong album. And their balad song SA PANAGINIP NALANG, thank you..

They are 19 to 24 years old. And the one who look like a kid (Thomas) is the oldest. The afro guy (MO) is half Filipino and half Black. They are from different parts of the Philippines and they speak different Filipino languages and they also include that to some of their songs. Originally they were 9 but now they are 6. I hope you can check their other songs. Porque is a tagalog and Chavacano song. Chavacano is a group of Spanish-based creole language varieties spoken in the Philippines.

Porque is a Chavacano song. Chavacano language is a Spanish creole language in Philippines (Philippines is the only asian countr who have this language) tho "porque" of Alamat is just remake. The original is by "Maldita"

32:41 About the outfits. I know you are entitled to your own opinions but the outfits are not made to look super aesthetically pleasing. The outfits are made based on each member's home town which was also written in the cards that they hold in a scene in front of the vehicle called "Jeepney". Each of their outfits are based on the culture and history that can be found there. For example, Gami (the one in green hair) in Kbye (pronounced as kei-bai), he wore a suit that has a picture of an animal that can only be found in his home town called "Tarsier". Also, in another scene, they were wearing and holding coconuts while dancing. It was inspired by a Philippine Folk dance called "Maglalatik" often danced by men to represent a harmless battle between two tribes. So they didn't do it just to look different or fun. It actually has a deeper meaning.

My last video that I've seen from you is the SB19 1s time reaction 5 months ago. Its nice watching you again. And the name change! But I forgot what was the original name? Anyways, thank you so much for reacting to ALAMAT, sisters! 🤎💚 We like this group because they always mix Filipino tradition with the modern music. It helps young generations to be curious and learn again about their own culture. ✨
