This is a beginners guide to the Mosaic Crochet Technique, which is a very simple but effective crochet technique with lots of possibilities. This is the first lesson, where I show you all the basics you need to know to then go on and make all kinds of glorious Mosaic Crochet masterpieces! In Mosaic Crochet you only need to know how to work 3 stitches: the chain stitch, single crochet and double crochet, and I show you how to do all of those here. As well as the basic technique behind the wonderful world of Mosaic Crochet! Let the fun begin!
Here is the link to my Ravelry store, where you will find all my patterns:

Okay 😂 ~learning this sitting on a park bench next to a old lady 89 years of age who has been doing crochet from age of 7~ and she has NEVER seen this before ~ so now out comes her hook and wool ~ she’s now learning right beside me!! I have also discovered that she lives close by me ~ so I can go over with my device so we can keep learning together!!

I was just thinking the same thing, although I'm from the US. There's a bit of irony here, too, since the stitch is named after an Indian tribe here which is out west, and I'm in the east.

I have been crocheting 58 years. But have never done mosaic. Oh. My. Gosh!!! Tinna, I think you have created a monster. This was the most fun I've had learning a new technique in forever! You were right when you said it's addictive. I'm in your FB group, and have been saving patterns for about six months. I can't wait to get started. Your video was one of the best I've ever seen. You are adorable!! You made me laugh several times. Thank you so much for teaching this senior a new trick!!

Ciao from Italy. I stopped by to say Thank you! I'm autistic, and even if I love to learn something new, the process makes me incredibly nervous. Well, I was 5 minutes in this video and I was already excited, and ready to go. I finished my sample with joy, and for the very first time I wasn't nervous at all. You're an excellent teacher. I'm ready for part #2. (And I feel so proud!) Thank you Tinna. From the bottom of my heart!

But I can't wait to practice all the "Beginners Guide to Mosaic Crochet." Thank you ever so much. I promise to practice, practice, practice.

Patti - I am like you. In all my over 45 years of crocheting have not heard of this. She mentions the 70's that's when I started crocheting. . Hmmm, we are never too old to learn something new, right? 😊

But do tell everyone how easy it is! Share what you have learned just as she has shared with you. Be free with your knowledge, don’t keep it a secret. If you want to be less than, yet only appear better than others, then by all means keep it to yourself, but if you want everyone to increase their knowledge and joy, including yourself, then share, share, share! If you want to learn more, then teach more. I don’t believe in keeping learning and techniques a secret from others. Just as you have been blessed, I hope you share that blessing with others.

I know I am late in discovering this video; however, I am SO glad I did! When I became permanently disabled, I really was missing my career as a hospital Maternity/NICU RN. I decided to learn how to crochet via KZbin videos, and have donated all my items to a hospital nursery and hospice organization. I recently moved across country and I'm getting the itch to be productive again. I was thinking of learning how to knit, but now I am thinking of learning how to do Mosaic Crochet!! Thanks!! I look forward to my first attempt! Thank you for your passion!! 💜 👍

I've been crocheting since I was a child thanks to my Grandma teaching me, and this is the first time I have seen or heard of this! Absolutely amazing pattern. I already want to start a mosaic blanket! Thanks for sharing!

I did it! What fun I am having! First time ever laughing while crocheting with a video - especially at Row 9 when you are explaining about the double crochets falling off! I have never before had such a good time following a crochet video! This is the first video I have seen of yours and hopefully you have many more. I have been in a slump with my crocheting and this is the first time I've crocheted since December. Just what I needed to get me excited about crocheting again! Thank you, Tinna! "It's so easy!
