Still one of the heaviest and most evil sounding records of all time and it came out nearly 50 years ago! That's insane. If you consider yourself to be a metal head you don't like Sabbath then you need to take a long fucking look at yourself.

They're wrong about the downtuning. the S/T and Paranoid are in standard tuning. Black Sabbath didn't start tuning down until Master of Reality.

For me Master Of Reality is Sabbaths heaviest album. Sweetleaf and Into The Void have this bottom end bass-y, BOOMING, heaviness that has never been equalled, even by Sabbath themselves.

I feel like the first album is heavier, just in a darker, more macabre, and eerie way, you know? Wicked world always gives me chills...

"Ozzy's lyrical focus"? Lol. Ozzy wrote lyrics to about three songs in all of Sabbath's catalogue.

Trulysarcastic44 ozzy didn’t write the lyrics but he wrote the melodies and it was his idea of the kind of content Black Sabbath did. That is why geezer and Toni focused on dark lyrics, because of ozzy. Put some respek on ozzys name

Most influential heavy metal albums of all time. Its actually pointless to RANK them, but anyway... #1. Black Sabbath - Paranoid #2. Judas Priest - Sad Wings Of Destiny #3. Metallica - Kill Em All #4. Motorhead - Ace Of Spades #5. Slayer - Reign In Blood #6. Venom - Black Metal #7. Megadeth - Peace Sells...but who's buying ? #8. Death - Scream Bloody Gore #9. Iron Maiden - Number Of The Beast #10. Pantera - Cowboys from Hell

No one can deny that without black sabbath we wouldn't be watching these videos or discussing this stuff because the music wouldn't exist. I mean sure Metal may have eventuated in time but without Sabbath it wouldn't have happened the way that it would and the history of this genre would have began 20 years later and it would have happened completely different. Enough said...

Great list guys! Big thanks to the Metal Injection boys for letting me play a little part in it! Cannot begin to think how difficult it was to strip things down to the core albums that shaped the genre. Nailed it! Now back to boob comments and questioning each other’s manhood…

It would be kinda cool to have Judas Priest somewhere on this list of records that are influential, considering the riffs they came up with in the mid to late 70's probably influenced a few bands.

Say it's not surprising but imagine if it was further down the list or not even in the list. What reaction would you have then? Metal Injection, the number 1 was kind of obvious as was the inclusion of Number of the Beast, but I still really enjoyed watching this series on the most influential metal albums of all time and the record industry's take on the subject.

It was a good list until Judas Priest was left out. Sad Wings Of Destiny pretty much paved the way for all metal that came after it. Sabbath made the first metal music but every metal band outside of Doom Metal is more influenced by Priest more than Sabbath.

Geezer butler was the primary lyricist of sabbath. He should be more than just mentioned. He’s one of the driving forces of the band. Ozzy was the wildcard idiot member. Sabbath is iommi first, then geezer, then bill ward, and finally ozzy. These people on here talking about ozzy like he’s the man of sabbath is ridiculous. Sabbath could’ve done more without ozzy.

I feel like there wasnt a priest or motorhead album because they were incredibly influential bands, but they never had that one album that changed everything, it was over multiple albums that they did that. But, i do agree that Images and Words would be better replaced by something like Rising or Hell Bent For Leather. And btw, saying that Rust in Peace belongs on this list is a total joke. Its a brilliant album, but it wasnt that influential, and it wasnt even Megadeth's most influential album
@pyromaniarules
@pyromaniarules 10 жыл бұрын
as a huge DT fan i was surprised to see anything from them on the list. and if they make a list of influential bands then we will see priest and motorhead way up on the list. and lastly if any megadeth album would be up there it would have to be killing is my business or peace sells but whos buying, i would rather see killing buy peace sells would most likely make it for being the bigger more famous album.

seriously, stunned that they're not on this list. their 70s material especially is ageless to me. Beyond the Realms of Death? Let us Pray/Call for the Priest? Tell someone who knows nothing about Priest that those songs are from the mid-70s and I don't think they'd believe you.
