I started my bible study with 1 Corinthians. Your videos helped me to dig deeper into the verses. Waited for the 7th chapter and happy to see it. Thank you so much. Keep preaching the Gospel.

I’m thankful to have heard this. I have battled to leave or not to leave for a very long time. I have no interest in divorce or being with anyone else, but circumstances here are not good at all. That being said, lately, I have seen a spiritual warfare going on inside of him. He did start going to church with me a month or so ago, so I’ll wait. I do pray for him daily. I have never seen someone other than one of my children run from God the way they do.

What a clear and concise explanation of the matter that divides the world and the Christian community. This bible decoding carries to deep introspection before someone can consider the choice of marrying somebody. It's not only about love and being able to respond to responsibilities, it's more about the eternal future and happiness of the people engaging in this relationship. Choose wiseley: that's the Bible message through this study.

Thank you, pastor, for the teachings. It makes a lot of sense, you answered some of my questions that I had regarding to what Jesus said and to that which Paul spoke where Paul says in vs 12 but to the the rest I, not the Lord, that's a revelation indeed. Now all is clear to me. Thanks a lot, stay blessed.

God is so good! His reason is clear within aspects of our lives that are perhaps so banal that we might tend to easily over-step the mark by our desire for sin. If God wills it, by his Word, the reason is clear. Praise be to God. I pray anyone who is suffering the consequence of a failed or failing marriage is aware that His reason by His Word will grant you the Grace as you keep your Faith in what appears difficult. Praise Be To God 🙏🏻❤️✨

Amazing sermon! I do have a question. At the beginning you said “affection”, which I love, however, my NLT version says “sexual relations” and not affection. How do we know which is right?

We need to remember that the New Testament was written in Greek, and translated into English. Some words or phrases can be translated in various ways. This is one of those cases. We also want to remember to factor in the context of a passage. The usage of the word "affection" was, perhaps, and more gentlemanly way of saying sexual relations. Good question. I hope that the helped.

Amazing teaching! May God continue to bless you and enrich you with his blessings and wisdom. When does God approve a marriage? When it is done only by the State? only by the Church? or by both? What if it is only done by the State? In case someone was married, got a divorced in the past and now remarried. Both partners are now remarried. What would God lead them to do in such a case?

Lots of good questions. First of all, let me direct you to the commentary for a good overall treatment on the subject of marriage and divorce. enduringword.com/bible-commentary/1-corinthians-7/ As to your questions... When does God approve a marriage? God says that Christians are only to marry other Christians. They are not to be unequally yoked. We need to remember that Paul was writing to Christians, not unbelievers. When it is done only by the State? only by the Church? or by both? If Christians are living in a country, then they should abide by the laws of that country regarding marriage, unless those laws are clearly unbiblical. What if it is only done by the State? The important thing for Believers is that they follow God's guidelines regarding marriage. In case someone was married, got a divorced in the past and now remarried. Both partners are now remarried. What would God lead them to do in such a case? Stay married to who you are married to. Recognize any past sin regarding failure in marriage. Confess it to God, repent, and move forward in holiness. I hope that this helps. Blessings.

So what do you tell your church members who have already divorced and remarried before they got saved? Do you tell them to divorce the one they are now married to and return to their exes? What if the exes have remarried too? What do you tell your church members who remarried without true understanding of the scripture? Do you tell them the same?…divorce from the remarriage and return to first spouse? What if they can’t because the first spouse doesn’t want to get back together or has also remarried? They just all go to hell because of adultery?
@DavidGuzikEnduringWord
@DavidGuzikEnduringWord 3 ай бұрын
Pastor Lance replies - Of course not. People don't go to hell because of divorce. They are condemned because they reject Jesus. Pastor David made this clear. Once after divorce someone marries another person, they have effectively ended the first marriage, because they have united with another person. So no - they ought NOT go back to the first marriage - because that marriage is ended. Even under the Mosaic Law, retuning to the first mate was forbidden.

How does one keep their vows when separated from their spouse. Let's say in an abusive relationship the 2 separated...they are still married in God's eyes, how do they still follow marital obligations when they're separate?
@DavidGuzikEnduringWord
@DavidGuzikEnduringWord 6 ай бұрын
Pastor Lance replies - It would be advised that they do whatever they need to, to be restored to marital accord ASAP. How about approaching your spiritual elders and asking for counsel?

@@DavidGuzikEnduringWord Pastor Lance, if that person is in an abusive relationship as they suggested, IS it advised to reconcile ASAP?
@DavidGuzikEnduringWord
@DavidGuzikEnduringWord 6 ай бұрын
Pastor Lance replies - It is difficult to answer this without more specific knowledge. What is the nature of the abuse? I know from long experience that it's important to sort that out b3ecause there's abuse, and then there's abuse - if you catch my meaning. It can be dangerous dispensing advice via this format in something so important and complicated. I hope that makes sense. This is a situation where good, solid in-person pastoral advice is need.

1 Corinthians 7:15 New King James Version (NKJV) But if the unbeliever departs, let him depart; a brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases. But God has called us to peace. Isn't this a contraction with the verse below: Matthew 5:32 (KJV) But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery. Paul allowed her to divorce even though it was not because of adultery. Can you explain?

@DavidGuzikEnduringWord

An unbeliever doesn't put himself under the authority of God. Remarriage isn't the important issue in their life. What they truly need is salvation and forgiveness of their sins. I hope that this helps.

I don’t see how or why God would send a child to the lake of fire for having unbelieving parents. Children with no age or understanding of accountability?
