1. Coupled Oscillators - Normal Modes.

This is one of the most beautiful problems in classical Mechanics of how to find normal modes or oscillating frequencies of couple oscillators. In this video I outlined the general procedure of how to find these frequencies using Newton's 2nd Law.
Please remember that we can also find these frequencies by using Lagrangian methods - which I ll return to some time in future.

No. I had the method in mind so i wrote it down on page and solved it :) These Normal Modes are pretty general problem. A very good reference is “Thornton and Marrion’s” book on Classical Mechanics. Goldstein’s classical mechanics treats the same problem by using Lagrangian’s method. I also remember Riley and Hobson’s book on Mathematical methods of physics also contains a lot of examples like this.
