@@dontebutler2466 South Carolina. He’s a tremendous athlete. I actually coached in this region for a while. Also played against Gilmore, Holloman, and Clowney (spoiler alert: we lost in reg season and 3rd round of playoffs my senior year lol). I follow the region very closely still as I live in Charlotte. I actually watch SCHS FB more than Charlotte HSFB. Some of the athletes I’ve seen in that region...just insane. I even scouted the top RBs in NC (Zamir White, B.J. Emmons, Antonio Williams specifically) and while being absolutely ridiculous athletes I’ve seen athletes in SC at lesser known schools in person who completely blew me away but for whatever reason never got the same exposure. Possibly the fastest player I’ve ever seen as a coach (not player because I did play alongside Cordarelle Patterson and Jatavius Stewart at one time) have to be Pha’Leak Brown (Chester HS), KeMarkio Cloud bka Lamar Jackson Jr (Lancaster HS), Derion Kirkland (South Pointe), Montre Miller (Westwood), Markees Watts (Lancaster) ALL were just as good. I’d even argue that Pha’Leak and Kemarkio (4A POTY Ran and Passed for over 1,400 each) had some of the BEST football speed I’ve ever seen just under DK and Gilmore. But for whatever reason the majority of the players flew under the radar for the majority of their HS careers. Charlotte got an absolute steal in Markees Watts. Def a great human being and an amazing, hard working player!
