Sri Lanka, Dikwella. My newly discovered food is the Sri Lankan egg roti. Delicious, warm and it goes amazingly well with tea! This is easily some of my favourite go to foods here in Sri Lanka!

A small tweak to make this video more interesting. Please accept my apologies if I have upset you. You had an Egg Roti first, then also another version of Roti (fish or vegetable) insted of the Samosa , its generally known as Vegetable Roti. Third, you had Ulundu Vadai (a vegetarian snack made by soaking urad dal for a few hours and then grinding it into a smooth paste). To make it more flavorful, add green chiles, dried coconut, coriander, and curry leaves. further shaped into doughnuts and fried till golden brown and crunchy in hot oil) Finally, you had Parippu Vade (Parippu Mean Dal) prepared in the same way as Ulundu Vadai, but it's not grounded until the past (I'm not a good Chef so I can't describe it very well :P ).

1:29 Sri Lankans call these “Short-eats” and generally considered snacks. Not as meals. 3:06 That is a vegetable roti, which is cooked on a skillet like heated steel plate (7:06) and Samosa is a deep-fried food. The local norm is: Vegetable roti: Triangular, Fish/Chicken roti: Rectangular. 3:50 Vadai (Vada) is originally a South Indian food and this is a Sri Lankan version of that. A fun fact is, although they called it “Ulundu Vadai” (Black Gram Vadai) probably it contains 0% Ulundu (Vigna mungo). 5:38 Look at his expression. 😂😂 6:06 I bet the tea was too sweet. As a local I always ask for low sugar tea. And the fun fact is Sri Lankans call "tea with milk" as tea. Tea without milk is locally called "plain tea". 8:20 From what I saw the fair price can’t be more than LKR300/-. 🙄🙄
