Can you do more of this Technique Tutorials..(TECH HOUSE). For Synth Drops to get Along or Sounds like ear candy that play a big part in todays modern tech house tracks.. This are really the Essential & all we need to know to Produce & bring quality...That way we can keep Positive... I know when quality isn't there i tend to not feel motivated to keep progressing with my productions...But i literally just applied this & instantly i feel better about the track & now i can move on to the next step.... THANK YOU

I've been doing this trick for a while now, it's awesome. Obviously you don't wanna use it every single time because you never want to have a default when producing as Zen said. So think to yourself if it's necessary! And a further tip for Zen: you can change the scale slider on the EQ and it will perfectly invert your EQ for you rather than doing it yourself :) [it's either the scale or the gain slider on the bottom right, not sure which one haha] Happy producing ;)

When you are working with an already processed kick, let's say from a sample cd Do you then only apply the cuts and no boosts, as this would over amplify the processed kick in that boosted eq range. So my question, does this trick also work by only applying the cuts ? Thx 😃 (Great tip by the way)

thx zen~ could you do a video on the tune vs. not tune your kick for techno/tech-house? in a lot of your videos you talk about using non-sine waveforms for basses in tracks with a low key (c#,d,d#) - how does tuning your kick work there? right now working on a track in c#, and have picked a kick in g#; hope the fifth works out here, as i definitely don't see as many kicks in c-d range on splice, for example. cheers man!

Hi, I think there are lots of good tips in your tutorials, however I am wondering whether you are doing any gainstaging and what you think about such huge boosts you are showing on low frequencies as those will cause phase issues / ringing when using eq8 which as far as i know does not offer a linear phase mode. Also why don't you hipass everything from at least 35 Hz downwards? Those frequencies are not audible and taking away headroom. I am sure you know this so my post is not intended to tell you how it is done my question is why you are not going for it.

Why do you do that if you side chain the bass
@TheMightyPeppermintor5 жыл бұрын
It's basically a manual detuning/repitching process that gets rid of a couple of weird resonances that could sound annoying in the mix. Cleans up the whole thing a little, gives it more snap.

i heard this with my subpac and to be honest it sounded better before, with the eq i hear too much resonating in the bass. Shorten the kick is the better choice :)
@ZenWorld5 жыл бұрын
Never understood how that worked. How can you hear it if you are just feeling it? The reason I never got a sub pac. I run sonar works and got a good ranged in the low end. Honestly, if you find it's to resonating don't boost the bass so much and tame. Thanks for your input and appreciate the comment.

Engineer* not producer. Why do so many people mix those 2 things up? Producers organize the release not make the music. You can be producer AND an engineer but what you're describing is engineering. Otherwise good info. Thanks
