Modding is awesome, the problem is understanding what impact each variable has on the behaviour of the game. I've been messing with this for about 8 years now and I still learn something new everyday. Had to figure it out on my own with loads of testing. I'm currently working on a "Super Traffic mod" but it's not where I want it to be just yet... WIP but soon as I get it where I want it, going to start a whole new series of videos to give you guys a front row seat on how to design your mod. For me it's always been about getting the sim to be as realistic as possible and not about designing trucks or prefabs etc. There are much better guys out there for that. So if you're going for it, keep watching my videos... you may get hooked just like I did ;)

hi! so when i drag the base into the extracter it doesn't do anything. it just appear that black screen and it switches off imediately after i drag. idk what did i do wrong but please help me.

All I can suggest is watch the video again really carefully... and follow the instructions exactly - it could be that the extractor is an older version which no longer converts or there could be administrator privileges' in effect... it could also be the location/directory of the extractor or the extracted location??? Honestly, I've never encountered that issue. My suggestion, look online for the latest version of the extractor and try again but I suspect your process could be missing a piece. Not sure, I'm sorry couldn't be of better assistance 😉

@@migstrucker-modding like that base.scs and def.scs I got it from the steam apps/common/Euro Truck Simulator 2/ then I got them from there and when I drag the base on the extracter it appears a black screen just for a second

Hi, all I can suggest is to download the video and go through it slowly following all the instructions as laid out in the video... The alternative is to download this sharemods.com/0ty8u11c7itl/My_Mods.jpg.html and edit the picture to your liking. It's one way of maintaining the picture format. It is important to maintain the correct format. Good luck 😉

How do I find the def-file etc. in the Steam-version? Just upgraded to 1.45...

The Euro Truck Simulator 2 def & base zips are located in Program Files(x86)/Steam/Steamapps/Common/Euro Truck Simulator 2/bin/win_x86, but you'll still have to follow the same instructions as in the video to extract these for editing. Hope that answers your question?

@@migstrucker-modding hey thanks man for replying I want to change version of mods By taking example of car like Benz Benz is working on v.1.43 but not in v.1.36 so I want to downgrade mods

@@JOJO-iz1kc that's quite complicated... you'll have to literally go through the base/def folder and adapt every single file in v1.43 to the original files of v1.36. And were not even looking at the automat or model files in this scenario which will definitely have conflicts with the different versions... Unless you are truly a modder of models, I would suggest trying to find a compatible mod version for your game. There are some awesome options out there, you just have to find the one that works for you... afterall, that's the beauty of modding 😉
