Honestly, I do believe that the Kalos's rivals are underrated. They are representing the different ways to play the Pokemon games: - Serena/Calem: Competitive players. They only care about power. - Tierno: Funny challenge run. He represents the players that play the games with a challenge, things like doing a Nuzlocke or using only one type and the like. - Trevor: Gotta Catch 'Em All. - Shauna: Casual player. She only wants to have fun and nothing else.

I totally agree, the fans always think rivals must be always strong, Kalos has a serious rival, if we had just one rival who was bad at battles, then I'd understand, but we don't I love Trevor because he's very interested in completing the Dex entries and learn about them, if they just added the motivation to make him Sycamore's assistant as they did with Bianca or Hop with Juniper & Sonia, could've been perfect Shauna is very interesting too, she just want to make friends and enjoy with them into the adventure, trying to find herself Tierno needed something else, like a side event, if they kept something similar to Pokémon contests, musicals or anything like that, Tierno would have been our tutor

it's funny how i've seen people say the sword and shield characters have no character... meanwhile hop goes through a whole character arc with feeling like he's in his brother's shadow... and tierno and trevor from pokemon X and Y just... exist.

According to Bulbapedia, almost all opposing trainers have pokemon with max friendship from gen 2-7, exceptions being one of the gen 3 battle facilities and any mon with Frustration. so Bianca does have max friendship with her Pokemon.

@@rustedbubble4756gay is often used as an umbrella term by bi, pan, ace, and even straight trans folk. (And lots more obviously) A bi person might refer to herself as gay, or even have a gender preference/ gender they are more often attracted to.

I have a theory that Bianca is Barrys's sister since their both goofy people mostly in the anime since Bianca always had a gag of tripping and falling down on Ash. Also they both are blonde. Both wearing orange and white color scheme in their clothes.

I have a few fun facts of my own to shallre Dawn / Lucas (as secondary arrivals) are shown to have irresponsible spending habits wasting their money on the department store and game center respectively The reason Barry keeps saying he'll fine 1.000.000 is because he wants to build his own battle facility Cheren is the first confirmation that gym leaders hold back against challengers Bianca wearing glasses in the sequels implies her clumsiness was due to undiagnosed nearsightedness, the strong similarity between her new glasses and Cheren's old ones have sparked much speculation Bonus fact - Cheren and Bianca have known each other since they were 4 years old Shauna was indeed stated to have been intentionally designed to appear as she has a crush on the protagonist, however the dialogue differences the English version only show her having an interest on the boy and it has not been verified if this is or isn't also the case for the Japanese version Hop's aptitude for being a Pokemon professor is foreshadowed a few times. 9:02 Kieran look like he want kill the player "NNOOOOOOOOOOO YOU STOLE MY WAIFU DEATH DEATH DEATH DEATH" My favorite rival is Carmine or Bianca, on one hand Carmine start as a racist and cringey bulldog but with time she become nicer and ultra devoted to the player. On the other hand Bianca is a total klutz but her kindness are impossible to resist. Otherwise Klara are a hottie although her creepy glare make her more vain and ugly

Avery's powers being "weaker" isnt actually right, it's specified that he cant Teleport and as such he's considered a disappointment to his family, despite being able to LEVITATE PEOPLE INTO THE SKIES WHEN HE LOSES TO THEM. If i remember correctly, those are talked about in the secondary Cards, gained from a rematch, which depicts avery doing push-ups with his Slowbro on his back

That Bianca is Barry is a really long stretch. i think its a coincidence or like a reference of a "What if" scenario about a female version of Barry. IK its dumb af lol

I actually love the theory of Barry bejng Bianca, even if it doesn’t make sense. With a few story tweaks though, it could work in like an au or something! I might use the idea myself, actually.
