How’s my viewpoint. Yes, hire a competent CPA to manage your businesses accounting systems, but If you’re a small business owner, take an online basic accounting class for business owners to learn about accounting. I’m not talking about diving into the weeds on various amortization methods for bonds or which depreciation method to use, but a general over view of how financial statements are built, what they communicate, and how consumers of those financial statements (banks, investors, regulators) use the information.

You have to know your business better than anyone else. Read the IRS code, learn how to read financial reports, etc. Jasmine seems to be knowledgeable but her firm’s pricing is out of reach for a truly small business owner, as is true for most competent consultants.
