I feel like the reason this song hits so many people is due to the fact that David gave all of himself for other people. He sacrificed himself in the process, for others or what he felt like he had to do, losing himself along the way but the person he cared about most, tried to get him to stop but he felt like he had to continue, to continue pushing himself, he knew what he was getting himself into but that didnt stop him because he had to prevail for the good of the ones he was supporting. That's what this song means to me and the anime.

ill say this now, i was really starting to feel like i was the only one.. and then i saw the comments. you guys made me feel not alone in my emotions. gave me a good cry and its been a while since a show did that for me. put me all in my feelings. 10/10 show, cant believe it was only 10 episodes and they managed to fit so much story in just those episodes. the song brings back happy and sad memories both alike. about to rewatch it again for the 3rd time.

i posted this on a comment, thought maybe it could explain what you feel when listening to this song if you only know subconsciously or at all idk, so for whatever reason here it is. dont scold me im just a man on youtube talking about men and a man that men can relate to about a woman and a man. hehe. with the show with it, seems to be beauty, love, and death ultimately with a blank image at the end not wondering where the person went when they left the earth. a person we can relate to, and a lot more. but in one word, for me idk lol. its like beauty sacrifice hardship love hurt pain and maybe more. if you listen to the song before watching the show, its different. I think as a man we all kind of look at lucy as someone we would want, and feel david as almost us. and we all have had someone we loved. but there is a want deep in us for that person which in davids case was lucy. The best connection we can have with another human, where we are in it together at that point, you feel them, they you. and you know they see you and lack nothing, and you feel or know you see them, and lack no view. no dark spots. the light shines and you see that person, you feel that way. To be honest the cyberpunk edgerunners was good till about halfway through the season. If it didn't have the distinct vibe of someone intentionally going for the worst ending. Not to mention how dirty they killed Becka. If it wasn't such an unceremonious end like they went woops not enough time to kill her properly so she just dies here.

The cyberpunk dystopian future is an uncaring and unjust world, it doesn't give a shit about about whether someone's death was deserved, or abrupt. Farady got the same treatment.

@@Fintank_ his death was deserved and as unceramonious as it should have been for a double crossing rat. And I get the grimdark future dystopia of cyberpunk. The difference between the two deaths is one was planned out well, Farady, and the other, Becka, just felt like lazy writing.

A better and more fitting time would have been before going up to the hanger or off screen while the hanger scene was happening. The first option there could have been just a lucky shot that domes her and just adds fule to David's fire. The second option being that they were just over run and out gunned with Becka's no backing down from a fight attitude to blame.

Either of these also remove the final interaction between Rebecca and Lucy.
