There are 31 maps that can appear after the first map (the first has a lower pool). But not every map is equal, shrouded moor is slightly higher. To account for this, I changed the numbers to be roughly 1/29. The reason the first map doesn’t count in the probability is because I didn’t pick shrouded moor before I started. So any map I start on, the odds of getting it 4 additional times in a row is (1/29)^4

Any 5 specific floors have the same chance. It's only rare to notice a specific pattern

@@monkeytown1239 There are a couple dozen different map types and end bosses so essentially once you get to end game rifting you are playing a random mix of randomly generated maps with random mob types on each floor and then a boss at the end. Some maps and mob types are a lot more desirable than others but yes you are grinding maps over and over for gear and to level your legendary gems.

@@monkeytown1239 Well the whole of engame begins after the campaign, there is quite a lot to do, especially if you are new. You select a build you like and you try to collect everything you need, then you start min maxing in different ways, you upgrade your gear and try to reach the highest you can on the leaderboard or do whatever you want. The end end game however is indeed just doing rifts and farming paragon levels while you look for stuff like this or some insane lucky clear whatever. People usually hate on diablo because of this, but other games have no batter loop at all, if you enjoy it you will play just to get a bit stronger or something, look at any competitve game, you basically do the same thing everytime.

stars align this season. I had something interesting going on couple of days ago too, just not GRs. I was doing bounties in groups. I've came across a rainbow goblin, cleared the rainbow level, carried on finishing bounties. As we were done, I've left, re-entered to open another public bounties. I came across another rainbow goblin. Finished rainbow floor, finished bounties. Entered another game, started doing bounties, another rainbow goblin. Same process. Started another session of bounties, another goblin. 5 Goblins withing 5 ''enters of a game'' for bounties, in row.. how? :D To clarify. I usually get 1-2 rainbow goblins per season, so getting 5 in row was something unheard of for me :D

Lowest odds thing I've had happen in a blizzard game was in Heroes of the storm, playing on random with only support disabled I got Varian 8 times in a row. We have to assume that the odds here aren't even for getting any given hero, because with 86 heroes in the pool that would make the odds on that 1 in 2,992,179,271,065,856 , though even with the odds not even it seems to be phenomenally rare.

I thought this was a game mechanic before this video, i started playing again 2 months ago with a friend and it happened 2 times that we had the same map 4x in a row and more often 3x. So we thought sometimes the game gives you the same map every layer so we didnt check 5th floor. Interesting to know that this was extremely rare, we were just pissed off at it haha

In 1980 I rolled up 3d6 about 200 times, recording each set of 6 stats for potential D and D characters. When I used a set, I crossed it off the list. I had the sheet to show the DM to prove I had rolled it. Never got all 18s. My best was 1 18 and 2 17s in a set. I think I got a total of 3 18s out of 1200 rolls. Old school gaming. (I rolled and recorded the numbers in my high school library. True story.) 😉

I had 6 charisma and 6 intelligence, and 4 wisdom. My character was a half-orc, and the joke was that the other half was a rock. My character's mom was an orc, and "Old Baldy" (A granite mountaintop) was my character's dad. Obviously not true, but that's what the mom had told him, and he believed it.

This makes me wonder if the generator is broken or doing some weird things. People have been mentioning specifically the rolls on affixes for elites seem to be off. Getting waller/reflection way more than usual, and I myself have count like 11/13 elites in one rift with waller. Other people saying other random things with crafting and rifts. I don’t usually pay attention to that but when so many people say the same thing you have to wonder. Either way it’s still cool. Good to see lightning impale getting some love, it’s a fun variant and works well for speed.

Yesterday on a rift i got a map like sewers, that just kep going forward. strainght, no curves, forward path. The lenght, maybe 1/3 of a rift bar. A LOT of single tunnel. Had to scroll mini map twice to go from 1 side to the other.

yeah, but they have no significance. It's like that with any kind of data set, you look for the ones that have significance, not just any random point. Any specific order of coin flip in 100 flips has the same chance of occurring as having it be head or tail 100 time in a row, but those 2 cases have significance and are noticeable, the rest doesn't.

I always get plague tunnels. Its a common occurance, if i have plague tunnels on my first floor, the next 3 floors will be plague tunnels. Same as the graveyards, if floor one is a graveyard so will the next 2 be. I always assumed this was a mechanic.

I thought that when there was a cloudy effect on the screen in a GR, that meant that the GR would have a higher chance of spawning the godly layouts. I'm trying to figure out if the cloudy effect is there, or if that's the normal atmosphere of the rift. So, if that's the case, wouldn't there be a higher chance of seeing shrouded moors?

Ricochet (lightning rune) causes impales to chain to 2 more enemies = superior clear, even when compared to the cold rune (causes impales to pierce)

Fire is the one with the most damage, cold is a close 2nd, and lightning is a strong 3rd option. Any of'em works, but use a rune based on what gear you've gotten (eg. If you get gear rolled with cold, use Overpenetration)

Start your GRs at 90, or higher depending on whether you one shot everything or not. Other than that, biggest tip would be to keep up all synergizing affixes for damage and defense (e.g Focus/Restraint and Wraps of Clarity)
