#1 ITEM EVERY LAWN MOWER NEEDS! [WHY AREN'T THEY STANDARD?]

Today we're installing the Ballard Advance Chute to the Exmark Vertex so we no longer have to worry about shooting clippings everywhere. There are a lot of chute blockers out there for lawn mowers, this one just happens to be my go-to.
The reason I like this one specifically is the fact that there are no cables, no motors, and very little to break on it. I know there are some other great chute blockers out there, but I've really like the design on this one.

I swapped a factory mulching kit for a chute blocker and have cut my times down big time. Mowed a lawn with good growth that took about 45 minutes last year and it took 35 yesterday. Saving even small amounts of time either equals more money for the day or more daylight to throw the ball for the dog!

I'm not sure I understand this my mulch on demand on my exmark trivantage has blocker bagger an the mulch on demand has baffles inside the deck that keep the grass so that there is nothing but juice I also run samurai mulching blades or the heavier Oregon mulch hilift harden edge blade g3 or s9mething to that effect my question is why put just the blocker on as the trap open blows closed mulches an controls spray plus the flap is adjustable from wide opento closed if I take out the baffles I open the underside of the deck out an it just drops grass everywhere when your in trans after cutting an what a mess that can be

When I was installing the bolts, I put them in from the bottom that way I don’t have the length of the bolt hanging down catching grass. I also installed weatherstripping to keep dust from coming up from the small gap.

I can't tell you how much I appreciate this video. I had the exmark version of the chute blocker and took it off because it sucks. It doesn't allow the clippings to spread out as much when you open it all the way. It also needs to be removed when putting on the bagger. This version seems to not have either of those issues.

I’ve had my advance chute on now going on my 2nd season. It is such part of the mower now, keep clipping out of mulch beds, windows, cars, etc… any tight spot for that matter, that you don’t want to bag, or stop the mower, bag the small area, then take it off, and continue to mow. My only problem, was the install, took me a few hours to install. Great video guys👏

I use the grass flap on my Scag because I like the foot pedal, there was a few modifications I had to make to it to make it last during commercial use. Now I only have to replace the cable once per year. I bought a few of them to keep around.

I swapped all of ours from the ACS to the Grassflap. Yeah you have to deal with the cable but it opens all the way vertical unlike the acs and you can keep your hands on the sticks the entire time. Also no more crepe myrtle’s catching the handle.

The install looks like it’s straight forward, but I would’ve run the bolts through the deck from the bottom. You have a lot of excess threads at the bottom of the deck. have your fiber nut on top.

The best one so far that works best for me is the grass flap! Because just with a pedal you control it and no drill necessary on my scags!

I would say for the stand on Mowers the grass flap of the way to go you don’t worry about taking that pan out you can control it with your foot I’ve had mine out for two or three years and it has not broke on me yet I do like the design of what you have there maybe for a sit down but as far as the standards hands-down grass lap is the way to go

I would suggest getting your self a metal punch set. Then you can line up your holes with the spacer and hit your pin punch in the middle allowing your drill to not to skate on your center. Try them out next time let me know how it works out for ya.

Drill slow speed as well to slow down burning out bits and the bit will actually bite better. Slower is faster when drilling

I have found that Quikchute works best for us on standers and the Advanced chute on riders.

Foot operated Grass flap all the way. Cable has not been an issue. Main thing is hands never leave the controls to open or close chute. Personally would not go with this system. I'm subscribed to your channel and find you to be a Top Pro.

The advanced chute isn’t bad, but could be better. I went with the Qwikchute on my V Ride 2 because it opens straight up all the way.

Grassflap on 2 standers and 1 sit down.. Only thing we use. In 4 years have only had to replace 1 cable..

I would have put the bolts up through and the nut on top so the long part of the bolt isn't inside the deck catching grass and hanging up on things. just a tip I'd say to do. plus then in the future rocks and whatever else aren't hitting the threads if you ever take off the bolts.

I have 3 qwickchutes on 3 prostances.they do the job but every year the handles get real loose and you have to replace these weird washers.also they don't have those holes in the chute block plate.do those help with not leaving trails of grass?orr?

In my experience qwuik chute is better and it runs flat with mower. Unlike the advanced chute that adds to the width of the mower by a couple inches. Which stops you from getting in small gate yards. Just my 2 cents

Yards I'm trying to get more, but I only have a garden tractor, I don't know if I need to get a zero turn to look more professional for the business, I'm trying but it ain't working out, I do a amazing job my clients are shock that can stripe with the garden tractor, what should I do

Hey buddy that’s great. You could still get quite a few customers even when rocking the tractor, just do a great job and the best you can! My suggestion is get flyers made up for .10cents a copy and pass them out door to door. Folks will eventually give you a try and that’s your time to shine. Keep up the hustle buddy!

Another business owner here. One advantage you have rocking the tractor is not the big zero turn payment. You can price lower, which will get you more customers. I suggest mentioning to your existing customers that you're looking to expand your client list. Word of mouth is the best advertising. I would also have a couple of magnetic signs made up and stick them on your truck or trailer. I get so many jobs having my logo on my enclosed.

They don't come standard because the mowing manufacturer doesn't want to risk putting something on there that has so many different opinions. A lot of people like this brand and a lot of people hate it. I wouldn't risk my company reputation on something with so many difference of opinions.

WD40 is better than nothing but Use Tapping oil it's like 5 bucks. Even bar oil for chain saw would be better than WD40. WD40 is a cleaner not really a lub unless you have wd40 lubricant specialty. It saves your bits and teeth. AS i watch this I see so many things why you should hire a metal worker to install them for ya. LOL
