Branch Together brings Christians together to read the Bible every day. We know as Christians that we are called to "branch out" and reach the world around us, but first we must come "together" and develop habits that help us grow to be more like the people Jesus is calling us to be. So before we Branch Out, we Branch Together. Some people might call this Daily Devotions, or Quiet Time...whatever you call it, our videos kickstart your most important daily habit.

Thank You Pastor Jared, what a wonderful and powerful Word! Fantastic job unpacking chapter 2. How important it is to love our brothers, for if we can not love them who we can see and touch in this world, how can we truly Love God in heaven. Lack of love for others short circuits and cuts off the ability for our love to be given to God. Thank You very thought provoking.

1 John 2:11 stood out to me specifically because John clarifies how individuals are comfortable with doing partial work when it comes to benefiting them. For example, if you think it’s okay to go out and party on the weekends and praise Jesus on Sunday then you’re the problem. 1 John 6 states that if you say you follow god and you continue to walk in the darkness you are calling God a liar and God isn't a man who lies. to break these bad habits we ought to repent and begin to changee the way we think and live. This will resemble God.

unfortunately we can't be "like Jesus" because Jesus was with out Sin. that's why The Lord choose him to save the world from sin if we confess our sins repent and continue to live by the word. we can be the best version of our self by working daily reading and understanding the word,sharing the word, living by the word, worshipping the Lord and constantly praying for others, but most of all Loving not only the people who are good to us , but loving everyone praying for everyone so this world can become a better place to live . amen God bless you.🙏🍀

How does someone know they're absolutely saved? Like I hear people say oh they do good things and trust me I know that there will be good people in hell cus the only way is through christ. What I'm getting at is a little different. I don't read every day and I know I should. I find myself putting other things first and I don't purposely do it but it happens..I get wrapped up in worldly things. I've never spoke in tongues but i do believe I've felt the presence of the holy spirit. Sometimes it's very hard to tell if God's talking to me. I feel like I'm starting out new. I grew up in the church but was always taught to fear hell and because of that I never really loved God. Everything I did was because I didn't want to go to hell and I spent everyday so scared of death and wondering if I was going to hell or not. I eventually had a fall out with God for awhile. I still prayed and never stopped believing in him but I just stopped going to church and I did my own thing. I was very confused by stuff going on in the church. Well I met a guy that told me about God's love. How it's always there and you just gotta let him love you. He explained stuff so much better. But long story short I was hooked on this new thing where I didn't worry so much about hell but more about loving him cus if I really do love him with my whole heart and he loves me then I shouldn't fear going to hell. But my past just creeps in and I start worrying if I'm doing things wrong. I know I'm not perfect and I mess up but I feel like I'm really trying and much better than I was but I just can't get over this feeling of me not being truly saved.

Romans 8:16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children. Your story sounds similar to mine. I grew up in the church gave my life to Jesus at age 7 , but during my teen years I got lost in the world. My life was filled with alcohol , drugs, men, an eating disorder and lots of other things that oppose God. Thank the Lord he brought me back and miraculously broke all those chains. ( took a while) I am still a work in progress. God wants a relationship with us he wants us to spend time with him . He does call us to have a reverent fear of him because he is holy,but I do not believe he wants us to go through the motions so he doesn't send us to hell. He knows our hearts better than we do so there is no way to fake it. You either have the holy spirit or you don't. After I rededicated my life again to Jesus and was baptized I still struggled with old sin, it wasn't until I started to get on my knees every morning in desperation for him and surrender my day to him and reading the bible daily first thing in there morning is when God completely transformed my life and relationship With him. God speaks to us mainly through the bible so if we are not in the word on a daily basis it will be harder to discern what God is trying to tell you. It is also very easy to be deceived since there are a lot of false gospels being preached , a false Jesus who is super laid back and okay with sin is also being preached. It's easy to create in our head a God of our own making if we do not get to know the one true God of the bible. I cannot say enough how vitally important it is to read the bible. I know it can be hard to get into that habit but just start small with at least one chapter in the morning, your hunger for God's word will increase once you see the transformation in your life. Pray for hunger for his word and hunger for him. Also pray daily to be filled with his holy spirit. Sorry this was so long. You will be in my prayers. Here are some verses that may be helpful: Romans 10:17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 1 John 1:1 2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, John 10: 27-28 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they12 will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. Watch : Francis chan read scripture on you tube

@@that1guy0219 It is tough. Christ said, " we must through many tribulations enter into the kingdom of heaven ". So we get put through the ringer a lot. I have key scriptures memorized mainly because I myself have had to go back over salvation so many times. When we sin that suppress the Spirit and it's easy to doubt our salvation. It's important to know that only those who do the will of the Father are going to heaven. So what is the will of the Father? John 6:40 "And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day." The Will of our Father is to believe in the one He sent! And it ends right there. There is nothing added to it, and people who don't really believe in the Grace of God like to add to it. They are determined to do SOMETHING in order to get to heaven. They will tell you on one hand that salvation is by Grace and through Faith. Then in the next sentence tell you that you must also repent of your sins. We should strive to not sin. But we were not saved by "not sinning" so we can't be removed because we do sin! Christ said to "Repent and believe the Gospel". And when he said that he was talking to the Jews. And they had a need to repent but not from sin, but from their unbelief in Christ. That's why in other parts of the Bible salvation is broken down into so few words. My favorite is this. Acts 16:28-31 "But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here. Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas, And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house." I want you to know that I'll pray for you too. That's something I can do. Every time the Spirit reminds me, I'll pray for you. I know prayer works I've experienced it and I know God works for those who believe. He works, not us! God bless ya!

I have a question, it says to love other believers, your brothers and sisters in christ. But for example, if a non believer has hurt you really badly (and like hasn’t apologised/continues to hurt you) , should you still love them as well?
@BranchTogether
@BranchTogether Жыл бұрын
Jesus says to love even your enemy, which means we should care about and pray for everyone, even people that hurt us. There is a special love that we are called to for our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, but we should love everyone. Lastly, loving your enemy doesn't mean that it's not sometimes appropriate to maintain healthy boundaries.nif someone is hurting you, it's good to keep boundaries from letting them keep hurting you. Blessings, Pastor Darren

Yes, in the old testament that was how God asked his people (the Israelites) to demonstrate they were sorry for sins. When Jesus came, this changed because he was the perfect sacrifice for all people. No more killing animals. Jesus died himself willingly on a cross for our sin. He was the perfect lamb to end the process of animal sacrifice. And now the people of God aren't just a specific race (Israel) but now any of us who have faith in Jesus are welcomed into God's family and we have the eternal life promised to us. Since Jesus, we are now in the new testament or the new covenant. The ways God deals with his people has changed due to Jesus.

How are we able to be sure that we have come to KNOW Jesus? 1 John 2:3-4 says 3 And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. 4 Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him. So, the Bible clearly says that whoever says they KNOW Him but does not keep His commandments(plural) is a LIAR!! Plain and simple. You do not know Him, but I know Him. If I said I did not know Him, I would be a liar like you. But I do know Him, and I keep His word. The gospel that is taught to many people today has been reduced down to just "faith alone". This false gospel of "faith alone" has made following the commandments of Christ null and void. Obeying His commandments have been eliminated from the gospel and have been made subsequent and optional to salvation. Walking in the Spirit has been made optional as well. This false gospel of "faith alone" changes what Jesus said in Matthew 7:14 - For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few. Instead of following the biblical teaching on salvation in Christ, they follow this false gospel which tells them that they can be saved by "faith alone", apart from having to keep the commandments of Christ. By teaching that we do NOT need to keep the commandments(plural) of Christ as the gospel, the saving power of the gospel has been neutralized. The end result is that millions of people have been deceived by the devil's masterpiece into thinking they have eternal life in Christ when they actually do not.
