Way to be realistic about the situation. A lot of people need this reality check to understand how to go about the situation. Not many of us can be Tsitsipas, Zverev, etc.

Trying to keep it real here. 😉👍Pretty sure if you are a solid tennis player, you can find a school using the strategy I shared in the video. Thanks for watching.

I have a 4.2 UTR, and I’m 14 and I’m pretty passionate about tennis. What should I do in high school to get into an d1 school?
@MPTennis7 ай бұрын
Keep working on your game. To get a scholarship you will probably need something close to an 11 or higher. That doesn't mean you can't make it with a lower UTR, but you might not get an athletic scholarship. Work on your first touches, fitness and play as many matches as possible. Good luck!

Do the coaches offer you full ride scolarship when you get recruited to college tennis
@MPTennis Жыл бұрын
Not all players, but some might be lucky to get that.

Currently 18 and a freshmen in college. Can I join a college team w/ no experience? Especially if the team is small or not enough players? I have fast reflexes and great hand to eye coordination. I just need to learn how to serve, the backhand and more. Would this be possible is what I’m trying to ask.
@MPTennis2 жыл бұрын
That might be tough, but it depends on the school you are attending. If they need players, then why not, no matter what your skill level is. 👍

Hello Cade my name is Linton I am a junior college tennis player at Glendale Community College. I want to take my game to a D1. I've asked my coach about it and I didn't get a lot of information from it. I have emailed my athletic director on making a college recruitment video haven't gotten anything. I picked up the sport of tennis late we're talking sophomore year in high school 2017. I have some schools in mind that I am interested in attending. I don't have the greatest UTR and I have some of my tennis clips. Most of the players I'm playing against are in the 6-7 and even 8 UTR. I still want to play college tennis elsewhere how do I get a coach to notice me when I don't have a pretty UTR? How am I supposed to get a coach to notice me when I haven't had a great tennis season? I'm sorry for this rather long comment and this was tough for me write because I know that your channel is all about tennis and helping young players get to the next level; but this was tough for me because I'm scared of what people are going to think, I'm scared of that when people look at this comment they might make fun of me or possibly belittle me. Or worst yet I don't know what you are going say. My goal is to play at the D1 level but I'm worried about what the coaches will think of me and the fear of not being considered by them. Please understand

At what age and grade should you start emailing coaches?
@MPTennis11 ай бұрын
I would recommend you start introducing yourself to coaches when you feel you are ready to start the conversation. Could be grade 10, 11 or for late bloomers it can be grade 12. Make sure you have everything ready to share with them when you do start the conversation. Video, profile, transcripts etc.

Does NCSA help for tennis recruiting, because I have a membership there, but I heard from many peers that top schools coaches don't really look on NCSA. I'm currently 14, and have a UTR of 9, and I have very great academics and extra curricular, with a 4.17 GPA after my freshman year, currently a 4 star recruit. Do you think I should just reach out to the coaches via email, or via NCSA. And also if I am a 11 UTR and I want to go D3 for say MIT or UChicago, will they allow that.

@@tennisnerd.9194 Great questions...Congrats on doing so well with your academics and tennis. Very impressive! I think it might be better to email directly, but I have never used NCSA. As for D3, you can definitely do that but some D3 have very strong teams and it might be tough to crack some line ups. You still have tons of time and keep rising 😉

How can I compete in tennis if my school doesn’t have/offer a tennis team? I’m a junior in high school with little experience do you think it’s still possible to go D1? I’d appreciate it if you’d help
@MPTennis11 ай бұрын
If you’ve just started, it’s highly unlikely you can go play D1
