If you just want to remember the characters, this will probably work. If you want to actually be able to use Morse code, this is one of the worst ways to learn it. Morse code is an auditory language, and should be heard as complete sounds, not dits and dahs. When you hear Morse code on the air, it comes at you WAY faster than your brain has time to react and remember each of these. It SHOULD be just like me spelling a word out loud to you. If I said G O L F out loud, your brain would say "golf." You don't have to think about it. CW is the same thing. - - . - - - . - . . .. -. is the same thing. You hear "Dah Dah dit Dah Dah Dah di Dah di dit di di Dah dit" and your brain hears "golf". Even at a paltry 12 words per minute, your brain wouldn't be able to keep up. At 30 words per minute, you'd just hear a blur of dits and dahs. I'm not trying to knock this method if you simply want to know what the characters are, but if you want to actually be able to use it, do NOT learn Morse code this way or it will actually be detrimental for your ability to copy.

Hello Evan! Thanks a lot for your wonderful feedback. We are sure you are right. But our goal is to inspire people to learn about the amazing language that Morse code is. If you watch our next videos, you'll get a better picture of our process. We're inspiring people first. Then we are starting the tutorials from scratch. Slowly we are moving towards the words. We'd really love to hear from you again. But before that, we request you to watch our next videos. We're pretty sure you'll understand where we are going. Once you finish watching all of the videos, we'll really appreciate your feedback again!

To write your name in Morse Code, put 1 space between each LETTER and put 3 spaces between each WORD. For example, if your name is John Doe, your Morse code name will be: .--- --- .... -. -.. --- .

very similar to computer langrage...0 & 1 dots & dash.
@castlesaga7 ай бұрын
Hi John! Excellent analogy! Yes, both morse code and binary have 2 symbols. But binary can be used in more complex situations like computer algorithm and so on. Morse codes, on the other side, have the potential to be used anywhere, by blinking, by toe-tapping, by flashing lights or by creating sounds etc.

Ideally, you want short words for dits and longer words for dahs. The dits are in lower case letters and the dahs in upper.
