नमन्ति फलिनो वृक्षाः नमन्ति गुणिनो जनाः । शुष्क काष्ठश्च मूर्खाश्च न नमन्ति कदाचन।। - A tree-branch laden with fruits bends down towards the earth. Virtuous people bow down in politeness. But a dry piece of wood and a foolish man never bend. Likewise, in Rama-Sita Swayamvar, those who were unable to break the bow, are standing with their chest out - haughty and proud. And Lord Ram, who broke the bow, is displaying His humbleness in standing before Jagajjanani Sita with His head bowed down.
