the loyalty bonus is nice even on pangea. As long as its your continent and on the sea you can forward settle the ai up to the maximum of their border and bait them into declaring on you in a disadvantageous position.

you almost got the start which for some reason happens pretty often for phoenicia, which is a start in which you are completely surrounded by mountains and water blocking any expansion until shipbuilding.

little fun fact: phoenicias geological room is roughly marked by the mediterranean sea (west) and the karmel mountains (east). :)

Well we’re phonecians originates which is modern day Lebanon, they were forced to build boats and explore the Mediterranean because of the huge mountains that wouldn’t allow them to explore further east.

Manuel Kam Carmel mountains wouldn’t have mattered to the Phoenicians as that was further south Phoenician cities. The Lebanese mountain chain would’ve surrounded the homeland Phoenician cities and they’re much higher and harder to cross than the Carmel mountains, which had little significance to the Phoenician people.

I don't think you should've killed Bandar Brunei. GS buffed commercial states to work with harbor buildings too (thank god!), and since a city will allways have a harbor and/or commercial district, that's a lot of gold

It is not the first time I see you change the map generation to match the qualities of the civ you are playing (Canada with more tundra, Musa with desert, here with the archipelago...). You are an amazing player, would you ever consider doing the opposite? I know you can win games on deity by turn 300 and honestly already at turn 200 the surprises are finished... I'd love to see a game you win at turn 499 after an hard fought battle. Just my two cents, keep up the good work!

But then, you are playing a close to useless civ just to challenge yourself. Do you want to play Canada on a desert map? Or play Phoenicia on a Pangaea map with no access to any place to maximize the Cothons you get? That's no fun in my opinion as you are picking a civ with the express purpose of negating the things they are good at

It's honnestly not fun doing the opposite actually. It stops you from using your civ the way it's intended to. As for a turn 499 win, actually, changing that wouldn't make it harder to win... He'd just try to win by domination more and less the way the civ is intended to be played. For example, I just did a game as Lautaro and won by killing everyone AND having world religion AND most science without building a single unique unit, building or even pillage nce for my unique ability in Deity. The point of tweeking the map is to make it fun, not easier. Playing a desert civ without desert... Is just playing an average civ with nothing special. No interest.

Good for Frodo but not good to watch... I said that cause I like the streamer and the game; I just wished I could have fun also after episode four

As I mentioned previously, tweeking the map doesnt make it easier really ! Give me or him any map setting and any civ and I will win in Deity. (even if you give me a water civ in a full ground map or something) and its going to be as easy as if you didnt. The difference is: if you go with more hills and trees or more ressources, games end FASTER (more production). But its going to be as easy, I will do the same things except... Quicker. As for tweeking the map according to your civ (give more tundra for Canada for example), it doesnt make it easier either, it just means you can play according to your civ more. For example, where I to play Canada without Tundra tweeks, I could go for a cultural victory and just... Not build my unique building or use my unique ability (which is trash by the way). But I would win nonetheless. I could also win with domination. But no one would like that because sure Id play CANADA but Id play as I would with any other civ... Also, cv is generally more fun early by concept so thats just that. AIs cant keep up to humans at all. Im just saying the problem you identify isnt about what he does.. Just that hes good and the AI isnt so its permanently stomps.

ive had a chance to play all the civs multiple times and pachacuti stands out as the best. 3 deity wins which were smackdowns. there were alot of failed starts as you sometimes get desert tundra island start. my dido games were mehh

Pachacuti isn't that good because the best Terrace Farm spots are also the best Holy Site/Campus spot so it's quite annoying to choose between those two. Also, Terrace Farms don't count as part of the 6 farms you need for Feudalism which is quite annoying too. Where it not for those two things, I'd agree, it would be amazing... But the first part is a dealbreaker because districts are strong. Korea is much stronger in my opinion because they actually have to make less choices with bigger rewards. (no matter what you do, you get rewarded... Mines? REWARD. Farms? REWARD. Mines and farms? REWARD!)

​@@steve9007 ahh, then you'd still be wrong: Maori and Hungarians are better than Incans. Hungarians are especially strong at killing everyone. But if Terrace Farms were counted as farms, Incans woud be the best civ in my opinion. By that I mean that Terrace Farms should count for Feudalism's Eureka. Also, if you build 2 Terrace Farms and 1 Farm (or 1 and 2) next to it, they shoud act as if they're all farms and give eachother the adjacency bonus.

Your mods probably auto toggle because of your mod manager mod - haven't had that problem with the default mod manager

For me they still auto-activate if they get updated, with the default mod manager. Though I do believe there is an option to not auto-update mods.

Yep because its actually not really good in the sense that... The better petra is, the more desert trash tiles you have, therefore the worse your city is at building. So the better a petra would be, the less likely you are to build it.

Finally not Pangea! Though I still think having knowledge of the map type is a form of cheating against the AI. It allows you to tailor your game (via science and unit production) with knowledge not gained via scouting. And Potato's strategy of limited scouting really exploits that foreknowledge. Fractal/random actually simulates being placed on an entirely unknown world.

That bonus is great but only relevant once you have factories and modern era buildings in districts. Conquering it before turn 50 stops the AI using that bonus and gives you a productive city long before the power is relevant.

The word being pronounced differently in another language doesn't matter, because you're not speaking that other language.
