$1 Million Dollars in Gold Coins - Gold Treasure Found

Stack's Bowers Galleries allowed me the opportunity to take a look at some amazing, valuable and rare Gold Coins! I wanted to share these pieces with all of you before they sold at auction. The coins are either Top Pop (highest graded coins for their issues) or are close to it! I have never seen nice gold coins in my life! I also added a few Treasure Finds since they had them there. One coin from the Saddle Ridge Hoard, and another from the S.S. Central America shipwreck in Septemeber 1857. I so loved the story of those Saddle Ridge coins being buried in cans and then found on someone's property. Can you even imagine the rush it would bring to find even one small gold coin, and then to think of the hundreds in that hoard!

I'm blown away by those gorgeous coins. I love type coins because of their place in US history. While nothing I have compares to those, my seated liberty half dollar came from the SS Republic shipwreck which sank off the coast of Georgia in 1853.

Isn't gold amazing. It refuses to corrode or tarnish. I guess proof gold coins from the 1800s never crossed my mind as they would be too pricy. Thanks for sharing that experience, brother!

To give you an example of how hard to get a grade like that heres an example there grades from 1 to 70 and 70 being like its right off the mint like someone decided to keep it in a case or cabinet and nevertouch it tell they graded that and when they grade them they microscopic every centimeter of the coin so to get a proof 67 thats over 130 years old is insane

The whole "people wonder who owned this before" is just garbage. Its solely used to drive up value. That's it. Theres zero reason 2 exact grade coins need to be valued differently all because one coin was owned by a certain collector.
