"I never thought there were a million people that were interested in vintage computers or vintage gaming" Honestly, I'm not terribly interested in vintage computers but I'm a huge fan of your channel b/c I enjoy watching your presentation. You're an incredibly genuine dude. You don't put on airs, or try and show off how smart you are. You don't try and play a character or put on an act. Everything about you, from what you say to your mannerisms says to me that you'd act the exact same way if the cameras were off. People can tell authenticity and I think many of your fans are just responding to that. Congratulation on 1-million subs, you earned it.

It is about time someone said something like this. Absolutely. Mr. Murray is the real deal and he sticks to his guns, a real straight shooter. Completely agree, what brought me to this channel was how 8 bit graphics on the nes worked and I've stayed ever since because of his presentation. Yep, I come back because I prefer blunt and honest people. I really would like to see David and Sam from Look Mum No Computer collaborate a lot more; the clashing personality would probably entertain me endlessly. Sam is another one of those people that just feels like he'd be no different off camera than on; full wild full time. Clint and MetalJesusRocks feel 110% genuine as well. Keep it up, keep it blunt, and whatever you do, don't die all the way.

I know you will probably never see this comment but I wanted to tell you that in July my daughter passed away from DIPG cancer. However a few months before she passed we had a wonderful evening sitting on the couch, eating pizza bagels, and watching one of your videos. It was the one where you told us what a typical day was like for you. She had such a good night and was so happy. She could barely speak at that time, but was able to tell me that she loved me, followed by a wink and a hug. It was a wonderful evening and your video accompanied it. When I worked at Radio Shack in the early 90's, we found one of those early era Tandy modems in the stock room still new in box. Had fallen behind a rack and forgotten for over a decade. It had 300 or 1200 baud switch on it and nothing more. We put it out on the sales floor in the computer section, joking that it would be worth more if we hid it for another 10 years.... few days later a customer about had a joyous meltdown in tears over it. He was a desperate technician for the cable company in our region sent out on a quest to find a 300 baud only auto dial modem in 1993. Had to be 300 baud for their teletext system, or be forced to retrofit their entire system. About crapped when a NIB exactly what he needed was found. This was when ebay and online sources of such items did not exist.

It's kinda true for all long running channels that don't really change that much to fit the trend since the beginning. Basically, it kinda makes the gold button, or even the diamond button mean nothing, since those more or less has nothing to do with whether a channel is actually good or not. (Not that high sub count channels are bad, but they usually aren't on par quality wise with less popular but more unique channels, with very few exceptions and some kinda "turns bad" after becoming popular.)

Congratulations on 1mil subscribers! It's been an absolute blast watching you restore so many machines, re-solder so many old PBCs, and travel to so many expos. Working in Tech Support, as I'm sure you know, can be a bit soul crushing. Your content, however, has truly served to reignite my passion for computer hardware and PC Repair. More than just letting me relive the days my Dad and I would spend at the local convention center, in the dead of winter, picking over bootleg software and boxes of spare computer parts looking for a deal, your channel has really inspired me to try and make it to Portland or Englewood in the following year. I'm also looking forward to the Commander X16. I used to code quite a bit in QBasic as a kid and would often write my own text based adventure games and share them with friends. I have always wanted to have a better understanding about how circuits and components work together to create what's on screen and how to understand Assembly / Machine Code. I wish you all the best with X16 and I can't wait to be one of your first customers when it finally rolls off the line. I can't thank you enough for deciding not to let your channel to devolve into a bombardment of sponsored ads and plugs for sheer greed. It does really make a difference. I wish you and your family all the more success in the coming years. You've earned every bit of it.
@Nothuman764 жыл бұрын
The reason i watch this channel, it brings me back to a time with my father and his love for Tech. Now in those times it was was new. Majority of the stuff you look at, I've seen first hand and played with. After seeing these items again, I get to relive those memories from the early times in my life. I really can't express the joy these videos bring back to me. So thank you from the bottom of my heart! Congratulations on a million subscribers, so count me as one! Many thanks again and please keep those videos coming!

Congrats on the Million! It's been around 4 years that I've been following for now, and you helped me increase my knowledge on the Commodore systems! I'm only 21, and grew up with some old systems from '95 onwards, it's always fascinated me!

Ill be honest here: you very much deserve the 1 million subscribers! You're channel is amazing, and I always come back rewatching your older videos (ex. Commodore Documentary, Sinclair Documentary etc). On a personal note, you along with LGR have kept my interest in computers very strong, especially in vintage computing - I love vintage computers (I have a soft spot for vintage Apple computers) and I can't thank you enough!!! Keep up the great work ~ Here's to 2 million and beyond!
