Hi Solomon! So you started with screened centers in the 55gal drum. Then did you separate them by 1/8 and 1/16 and then flip them? Or did you separate them by 1/8" and 1/16" AFTER you did your flips? Trying to understand exactly at what step you sorted them by size. Thanks!

Like Marshall Rieff said all you have to work the material is 2 times, you’ll find your diamond on the tray. James archer told him that. I used to break down my material 6 times lol.

I show them under a black light at the end of my 2019 overview video, i think about 10 percent from the Crater of Diamonds will fluoresce. I will at some point soon have a video out with other minerals. Thanks for Watching!

Can you share the location of where you bought your saruca? We are going to be road tripping down in April and would love to pick one up before going to the park!
@TheArkansasDiamondMiner
@TheArkansasDiamondMiner 4 жыл бұрын
Erin Ryke i bought this from the Miners Camp office just past the park entrance. They are also available from carolinaprospector.com. If you dont actually run dozens of buckets of material, they are not necessary. I rarely use mine, I can concentrate with my screens. Sarucas will increase volume, but if its just you mining, it takes a lot to produce more centers than you can cary out.

We just spent a day there on our way back to Texas, we have two buckets of stuff to go through. Is there anything we can use other than a saruca to sort them out?
@TheArkansasDiamondMiner
@TheArkansasDiamondMiner Жыл бұрын
For take home gravel, if it is already concentrated you can dry it and search. If you need to further concentrate, a saruca is best, but you can use a box screen if the screen is still tight.

@@TheArkansasDiamondMiner Thanks! I'm having the most trouble just telling the difference between rough diamond and quartz. I saw the examples they have on display and watched a ton of videos, but I still wouldn't know a diamond if it hit me in the head.

What was the value of what you found? And can you take your own buckets-home to go through?
@TheArkansasDiamondMiner
@TheArkansasDiamondMiner 4 жыл бұрын
Doni Findlay I have never tried to put a value on any of the diamonds i have found. You are allowed to take a 5 gallon bucket of washed gravel home per paid entrance per day.

I just went there and brought back a five gallon bucket of gravel and looked through it and I'm pretty sure I found a brown diamond but I'm not sure should I take it to a jeweler?
@TheArkansasDiamondMiner
@TheArkansasDiamondMiner 3 жыл бұрын
A jeweler might be able to ID one, but many are unfamiliar with uncut stones. If you could find a local gemologist, you might be able to have it correctly identified. If you are a member of the Facebook group Crater of Diamonds, you could post a picture and some of the same people that ID them at the park may be able to give advice. If it is a diamond, you would have to return to the park with it to have it certified as an Arkansas diamond and get the card to accompany it. Hope to see pics in the FB group, and Good luck!

What value do you make off of all that work?
@TheArkansasDiamondMiner
@TheArkansasDiamondMiner 2 жыл бұрын
Value is kind of a tricky assessment. I have a fun hobby that keeps me in shape, lets me meet like minded people from about everywhere you can think of, and occasionally I find a cool keepsake. For me, there is no monetary value, I give away what I find. There is always a chance that I could find a large one, then I might sell it, but who knows.

why arent you using grease with a turn table?
@TheArkansasDiamondMiner
@TheArkansasDiamondMiner 2 жыл бұрын
Grease tables are pretty finicky. The temperatures of the water and grease must be exact, the viscosity of the grease has to be extremely specific, etc. There are several variables that have to be considered, and for the small volume I run, it just isn’t feasible.

So how much are those diamonds worth?
@TheArkansasDiamondMiner
@TheArkansasDiamondMiner 4 жыл бұрын
Stephen Appleby I have never even tried to put a value on the diamonds i have found. There are so many things that affect valuation for them, I wouldn’t know where to begin. I have always viewed them as keepsakes and give them to my kids. Some miners sell them in town or on ebay and websites, but price is usually more between how bad seller wants to sell or how bad buyer wants to buy.
