I had the same issue, but since the boot itself is amazing I just put some padding and tape over it and once in every 1-2 months change it and no issues at all with the heel. Been playing with them for a year and just ordered a new pair too!

I had the heel problem but it immediately went away with Vaseline/Petroleum Jelly on the heel. I put it on the heel every day before playing for 2 weeks and now I don’t even need it anymore and the heel is perfectly fine.

For sure these run true to size for me. I was actually surprised people kept saying it runs half a size big. I have a medium to wide foot. In addition, I got the regular fit instead of the wide fit. One thing to note is that I use a currex insole, so it acts as a shoe stretcher, due to its sturdy structure and relieves me from the hotspots noah was experiencing on the side of the cleat. The lockdown, fit and feel is amazing tho for me!

Wide feet guy here! Even though I read the comments from here and other places knowing about the heel issue I still went and ordered a pair and yes in the beginning they are a bit uncomfortable in that area but after wearing them around the house for several hours I risked it and went for a 2 hour training session(a pretty intense one with the group). The first hour went well but in the second when we did some shooting drills the heel started to annoy me a little but at the end the discomfort kind of got away! So if you still want to get a pair, just give them a bit of time and they should feel right afterwards.

I would say these are one of the best if not the best football boots right now. The Upper is sensational and the soleplate too. Unfortunately I also had problems with the heel and the laceholes seem to rip apart, but beides of that its an fantastic boot (I would recommend it) => 8,5/10

I have wide but relatively short feet and so decided to get the shoes true to size but with the wide fit, which was the right call. Just a little space between the shoe and my toes, which would have been too much if I had gone a half size up. They felt snug out of the box, but after walking around with them all day I felt they were pretty much broken in and played in them the next day without any problems. I felt the heels just a bit putting them on but a shoehorn takes care of that. Love the feel of the hypo-knit. In the rotation with my Mizuno Morelia MIJs and my Adlers. (I went a full size down with the Adlers which are great, but probably could have gone down a full size and a half, which says something about my foot length versus yours, Noah!)

Low Magista was Opus. No flywire but had kanga lite over the mesh and kangalite was very supportive despite being soft.

Oh I know, that's why I said these remind me of a low top Magista 1 - as in if they had made a low top of the Obra 1 (flyknit and flywire), this would be similar 😂

The lateral stability issue from the hypoknit also allows the rim studs to flex up backwards onto the upper. That leads to a lot of discomfort. Either those studs are too lateral, or the upper needs to be more secure.

I used vaseline on the back of the heel and it removed the rubbing feeling on the heel and never got blisters ever again

The upper and the studs are great I really like them both The only issue is the heel it really kills my heels everytime i play in them And maybe they can change how far the soleplate comes up on the upper

I’ve not considered New Balance boots simply down to the heel… I had a Furon v5 a few years back and my heels were bleeding and just torn up during a game I played… kind of crazy that 2 generations later they still haven’t entirely fixed it at least from what I’m hearing in the comments here. Just an update: I actually tried these and the heel still feels really bad at least for me, I ended up returning them and getting something else just because the heel was way too unbearable to play in.

Only con for me is the responsiveness on AG is poor, it almost feels like I’m running on pillows especially when I’m making a sharp 1v1 move on the ball. On grass though, it’s a 10/10

For me they’re better than the Nike gx’s far more comfortable, more stability, and wider on the mid foot and toe box, but not too much making it perfect if you have slightly wider than average feet like myself that’s why I bought them.👍🏼

I've assumed not because I know you play on a lot of AG and the Furon's FG soleplate is too aggressive for AG. I've got the AG and TF versions of the v7+, and I've experienced durability issues. :\

What’s widest in the midfoot and toe box between Tekela, Phantom GX2, 442 V2? Just got the 442 but also having issues with the heel padding, so hesitant on the tekelas. Considering phantoms if they’re wide enough in those areas

Are your 442's the top end model? I had the team tier ones, 112$ pair. The heel was fine, most comfortable cleats I've owned. Rocking the yatagarashu right now. They're awesome too, but way different type of boot. Once they die, either going back to 442 or copas mundial.

I've heard the top end pair give heel blisters. They do have a different interior padding compared to the team model. Maybe try those?

I have the top end model of 442’s. My bad blisters have heeled up, and so my heels are holding up better now with the cleats after about 6-7 sessions. I generally find the heels comfortable but i find the lockdown of the pads cause friction. I’m not sure that’ll change, but my now callus heels can handle it. If they opted future models for a more padded heel these cleats would be incredible because they otherwise feel amazing. Hope this is helpful!

An absolute banger of a boot! I dont think ill ever remove them from my rotation. I dont have a single thing to complain about it. I also have the 442’s which for the price is just ridiculously good. I dont understand why people turn their heads when they see me wear New Balance boots. In terms of price & quality they compete with the best out there and may even overtake them. I dont think there is a competitor for the 442 out there. Its just too good for 130$ price.
